Adult Student Career Training Program

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Computer Support Specialist program incorporates lecture, video presentations, hands-on learning, collaborative work projects, and individualized instruction to teach numerous concepts and components of the information technology industry. The course of study, as outlined below, is delivered to students by utilizing a variety of learning strategies, which involve self-study, small group learning situations, and whole-class instruction. Individuals who demonstrate self-discipline, consistent attendance, and an eagerness to learn and grow will be most successful in this rigorous 1,080 hour training program.

Computer Support Specialists provide information technology support for people and organizations regarding the use of computer software and network systems. A wide range of skills is required to assist users with computer problems. Work based integration of skills will be incorporated to better prepare students for workplace transition. Opportunities to earn multiple industry credentials, including CompTIA certifications, will prepare students for successful careers in this growing career field.
