The Student Government Association of Mt. San Jacinto College met via telephone conferencing, commencing at 12:30p.m. on March 1, 2011 in Room 355B-MVC, and Room 200-SJC.

II. Information Items
A. Senator’s Reports
1. Katherine announced that she attended the Student Services Committee meeting. They would like SGA to promote the “Go Pass” at the SGA BBQs. Also, they are working to make the campuses smoke free.
2. Jose announced that he attended the College Council Committee meeting. They are having a meeting this Thursday at 4:30 to discuss campus architecture. He also discussed campus security with the committee. The Puente club is hosting a dance today at SJC.
3. Edward announced that the SJC’s theatre is having its first play this semester, next week: “Six Characters in Search of an Author.”
4. Parisa announced that she will be attending a matriculation meeting on 03/17 on MVC.
B. Staff Reports
1. Donna announced that the SGA board needs to form a committee if they wish to move forward with an SGA survey. Reminder for “Hands Across America” event on 04/17.Donna announced that she learned through other advisors that is appropriate to have a section on the agenda called “discussion/action,” so items can be voted on immediately. *action item next week*Donna announced that the SGA student recognition event will probably take place at the Menifee Lakes Country Club Donna announced pricing for SGA table covers and banner. *action item next week* Donna announced details for board members who are attending the “March in March” next week.
III. Discussion Items
A. Speakers on Campus to Address Student Needs-Mini Grant-Yesenia-The mini-grant foundation have not contacted SGA. This item will be removed from the agenda.
B. Changing the Allotment for Athletics beginning with the 2011-2012 SY. Currently it’s up to $3500 each semester.-The board will send a letter to the department explaining how their allotment may change due to sticker sales. *action item next week*
C. Campus Beautification for SJC-Kenn-This will be incorporated with the activities for Earth Day.
