About the Awards

The Moore Awards celebrate the successes and achievements of Service Users and Staff working for, or receiving services, from Adullam.

We would like you to nominate people for these Awards and if required will offer you help to do so. This letter sets out details of the Awards and how you can nominate people.

Service User Award Categories

There are three Awards for Service Users:

  • Excellent Home Management
  • Personal Achievement
  • Award for Involvement

The Service User awards are open to any current Resident or Service User of Adullam and

ex-Service Users, whose support ended between 30thAugust 2012 and 1stJuly 2013.

Service Users can nominate themselves or other Service Users. Staff and volunteers can also nominate Service Users.

Staff Award Categories

There is one Award for Staff, divided into 2, so you can nominate two members of staff if you wish.

The categories are:-

  • Resident’s Choice Award: Project Based staff
  • Resident’s Choice Award: Central Services staff

Staff can be nominated if they are permanent Adullam staff members. Service Users can nominate two members of staff for this Award if they wish, one for project/support based staff and one for staff who work in central services, such as; Housing Officers; Repairs and Maintenance; HR; Admin; IT; Finance; permanent Matt25 staff and Business Development staff. The Award is not intended for any agency staff, relief staff, Matt25 trainees, volunteers or senior management (SLT, Area Managers and heads of departments).

How will the Awards be decided?

Awards will be decided on an Area basis:

The nominations will be assessed by a panel of judgesconsisting of;

  • 2 x Area Managers
  • 1 x Resident or Service User
  • 2 x External judges who have a connection with Adullam

The decision of the judging panel is final and no appeals or challenges to their decisions will be considered.

In each of the six Areas, an Award will be presented to the winning nominee for each category. Presentations will be made at the Moore Award Events to be held in Nov/Dec 2013.

How are nominations made?

  • Nominations MUST be made on the correct Nomination Form.
  • Nominations must be received by the 30th August 2013.
  • Late nominations will NOT be considered.
  • The information you provide on the nomination form will be crucial in deciding who the Award is given to so please make your Nomination as detailed as possible, stating clearly why you think this person should receive the Award.
  • If requested, Adullam Support Staff will assist Service Users to complete and submit their nomination forms.
  • In some instances Areas may run “Nomination Events” or meetings to help with nominations. Check with your support worker for details of events in your area.
  • If you require the nomination form in another format such as large print, or if it would be easier for you to make your nomination using an alternative method such as via a recording then please speak to your support worker.

What is the nomination process?

  • With this information sheet you will have received a nomination form for each of the Award categories.
  • If you are nominating yourself or another Service User for one of the Service User Awards, please use the Resident/Service User category Awards form.
  • If you are nominating a member of staff please use the Resident’s Choice Staff Award form – Project Based or Central Services.
  • Complete one nomination form for each nomination.
  • Once completed, please return the form(s) back in the FREEPOST envelope provided or via e-mail to .

What do the Winners Receive?

An award will be given to the individual to keep, engraved with their name, along with a certificate.

The Moore Award for Involvement
In Education, Training, Work, Involvement in Adullam or
Involvement in the Community
This Award recognises the effort made by a Service User to get involved in whatever way, and the impact that this involvement may have had on improving the Service User’s own life, or the lives of others. It includes Service User involvement within Adullam; voluntary work or involvement in the community or any other organisation; finding and keeping work; or getting into education or training.
The Moore Award for Personal Achievement
This Award recognises the Service User’s individual and personal journey; The change, the progress or the difference the individual has achieved in their life. However small, or large a step may appear, it will be a massive achievement for this individual and something we want to celebrate with them.
The Moore Award for Excellent Home Management
This Award recognises the tenant or licensee who takes extra pride in how they conduct their tenancy; how they work with their Landlord, and how they recognise the responsibilities and the pleasure in maintaining their home to the highest standard. Nominees for this award do not have to be living in Adullam accommodation but they do need to be receiving support from Adullam.
The Moore Resident’s Choice Award
This Award recognises a member of Adullam Staff who has made an exceptional contribution to the work of Adullam by making a major difference to the life of a Service User.
Service Users can make two nominations for this award if they wish:
One for Project/Support Staff
One for Central Based Staff

To make sure your nomination form is included in the results of The Moore Awards, please ensure all forms are returned to the Bury Regional office by the 30thAugust 2013.
