Regulations for Admissions for International Students for B.A. degree in Department of Chinese Literature, National Tsing-Hua University

(The following regulations have been established and confirmed in the meeting of Department affairs, 17 May 2006)

  1. Required documents for applicant for admission: diploma; school transcript (All documents written in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by a copy of original document and a notarized English translation); an autobiography in Chinese (more than 1000 words).
  2. Promulgate application documents for teachers in the Department to evaluate.
  3. The Admission Committee proceeds first round admission review, proposing evaluation chart and recommended counselor list.
  4. After assigning counselor, either the counselor or the Admission Committee proceeds oral exam with the applicant.
  5. Each teacher can only advise one undergraduate international student once a year.
  6. Notify the faculty of the Department admission decisions.
  7. This regulation is executed on an agreement made in the meeting of Department affairs. The same in the instance of amendment.

Regulations for Admissions for International Students for M.A. degree in Department of Chinese Literature, National Tsing-Hua University

(The following regulations have been established and confirmed in the meeting of Department affairs, 19April 2006. Amendments are made in the meeting of Department affairs, 17May 2006)

  1. Required documents for applicant for admission: diploma; school transcript (All documents written in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by a copy of original document and a notarized English translation); personal statement on academic and career objectives, and on research projects in which you have participated, both in Chinese.
  2. Promulgate application documents for teachers in the Department to evaluate.
  3. The Admission Committee proceeds first round admission review, proposing evaluation chart and recommended advisor list.
  4. After assigning advisor, the advisor proceeds oral exam with the applicant.
  5. Each teacher can only advise one graduate school international student once a year.
  6. Notify the faculty of the Department admission decisions.
  7. This regulation is executed on an agreement made in the meeting of Department affairs. The same in the instance of amendment.

Regulations for Admissions for International Students for Ph.D. degree in Department of Chinese Literature, National Tsing-Hua University

(The following regulations have been established and confirmed in the meeting of Department affairs, 19April 2006. Amendments are made in the meeting of Department affairs, 17May 2006)

  1. Required documents for applicant for admission:diploma;school transcript (All documents written in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by a copy of original document and a notarized English translation); thesis (if not written in Chinese, two chapters translated into Chinese must be supplied, or be replaced by two academic report or essays in Chinese); personal statement on academic and career objectives in Chinese
  2. The Admission Committee, basing on the research realm of the applicant, recommends two to three teachers as committee members for the first round review.
  3. The Admission Committee reviews application documents. Applicants pass the first round review must find one full time faculty of the Department to be the advisor.
  4. The advisor proceeds oral exam with the applicant.
  5. The list of applicants past the oral exam sent to the meeting of Department affairs to make admission decisions.
  6. Each teacher can only advise one Ph.D. international candidate once a year.
  7. This regulation is executed on an agreement made in the meeting of Department affairs. The same in the instance of amendment.
