  1. Eligibility for Admission:

(a)Candidates with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and / or in the Master’s Degree in Sciences / Social Sciences / Commerce / Fine Arts / Music, Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the programme.

(b)The reservation and relaxation for SC / ST / OBC / PWD and other categories shall be as per the rules of the Central Government / State Government, whichever is applicable.

  1. Fresher Candidate:

a)Each candidate must have obtained minimum 50% marks in aggregate in the Graduation / Post Graduation level or 55% marks in any other qualifications equivalent. Persons belonging to SC/ST shall be eligible to apply if they secure at least 45% marks in the aggregate in the Graduation / Post Graduation or 50% marks in any other qualification equivalent or in accordance with the norms affixed by N.C.T.E. from time to time.

b)There shall be special Reservations for OBC/PWD. Two seats under supernumerary quota for students from Jammu and Kashmir.

c)The age of the applicant shall not be above 35 years as on 30.06.2015 or when he / she seeking admission.

d)The ratio for Home University students and other University Students shall be 80:20.

  1. Deputed Candidate:

a)Each candidate must have obtained minimum 50% marks in aggregate in the Graduation or Post Graduation level. Persons belonging to SC/ST shall be eligible to apply if they secure at least 45% marks in the aggregate in the Graduation or Post Graduation level, provided that the requirement of 50% marks shall not apply to persons appointed as teachers prior to the commencement of the N.C.T.E. (Regulations Norms and Procedure) Second Amendment Regulations 30.03.2010 and Gazette Notification date 26.07.2010.

b)Deputed Teachers from any Govt. or Govt. Aided School having at least two years of teaching experience within the state of West Bengal and approved by the State Govt. of West Bengal are eligible.

c)No age bar is applicable for the Deputed Teachers.

d)A certificate is to be submitted from the Secretary, Head Master/Head Mistress (where he/she is serving) and countersigned by the District Inspector of Schools of the district along with the Application Form.

  1. Reservation of Seats for Government Aided Colleges:

For every Government Aided college, 50% seats are reserved for Fresher and 50% Seats are reserved for Deputed candidates. College wise 22%, 6%, 10%, 7% and 3% seats are reserved for SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B and Differently Abled candidates. Two seats shall remain reserved for supernumerary quota for students from Jammu and Kashmir, respectively as per Government Order.

College wise 20% of the Fresher seats are reserved for the applicants belonging to Other University.

50%, 40%, 5% and 5% seats are reserved for Arts, Science, Commerce and Other streams.

  1. Reservation of Seats for Self-Financed Colleges:

For Self-Financed colleges, 80% seats are reserved for Fresher and 20% Seats are reserved for Deputed candidates. College wise 22%, 6%, 10%, 7% and 3% seats are reserved for SC, ST, OBC-A , OBC-B and Differently Abled candidates. Two seats shall remain reserved for supernumerary quota for students from Jammu and Kashmir respectively as per Government Order.
