Adjudication regarding O3 No Dramas v Rustington Wanderers B
On Wednesday 5th October, The O3 No Dramas played Rustington Wanderers B at the Dolphin in the Knock Out Cup First Round with the score on the night being 9-7 to the O3 No Dramas.
The O3 No Dramas had played one player twice in the fourth quarter and although at the time the captain of the Rustington Wanderers B was unaware that this was not permitted (according to the constitution) a complaint was submitted following.
After a meeting of the Committee of the LDWRPL on Monday 31st October to answer the complaint of the breach of rule 20.8 of the LDWRPL Constitution the following decision has been reached.
Due to there not being a precedent to follow within the current constitution for a breach of rule 20.8 and also that the O3 No Dramas made a genuine mistake, the LDWRPL committee has decided that the O3 No Dramas will not be removed from the Knockout Cup 2011. However in reaching this decision it is quite clear to the Committee that (after several letters from Mr Davies of the Rustington Wanderers B) this breach of rule 20.8 was no fault of Rustington Wanderers B even though a validated score card was received after the match. Therefore the Rustington Wanderers B will be reinstated into the competition and will also take part in Round 2.
The decision was particularly difficult due to neither Captain being fully aware of the LDWRPL Constitution, as this situation would have never arisen if the constitution had been followed. The Captain of the O3 genuinely thought that he could play a person more than once in a quarter in the Knock Out Cup and the Rustington Wanderers B captain was unaware at the time that this could not be done.
At the AGM next year, there will be a proposal to the teams to vote on a change to rule 20.8 which will encompass the wishes of the teams when this rule is breached and also other rules within the constitution will be looked at to make sure that they have a suitable censure if they too are broken.
Secretaries Report 07/11/11
Probably my happiest Secretaries Report since being voted in, with every team, every week supplying a scorecard before Monday’s post. A joy.
This is reflected in the fact that the averages are up to date as of today for the previous weeks play.
I do want to add though, that the only way I know whose card has been submitted, is either by the fact it is emailed/texted/facebooked from the representative of the actual team or if your physical card is ringed on the HOME TEAM or AWAY TEAM.
Ten teams are now sending the card by some electronic means, but of the rest that are posted through my letterbox, there are still two or three that are not marked with which team they are. Mostly it is new captains, but there is still the Tower Club who aren’t sure whether they were home or away that evening.
One change to the handbook is that the two Wick Football Club teams moved before the season started to The White Hart in Littlehampton (the old Cob ‘n’ Pen). Please adjust your handbook with the correct details as follows:-
The White Hart, 32 Surrey Street, LITTLEHAMPTON, West Sussex, BN17 5BG.
My phone number is 07533 108573 which is in the handbook, but that is the number you MUST text your result through to BEFORE mid-day on Thursday whether you win or lose. This is regardless of whether you have posted it in Facebook.
Also a note for all Facebookers. I and the rest of the committee love the way Facebook is used to enter into the spirit of the League and the craic is superb at times. But please do remember that if you are wanting us to run the League to your rules, then please do not compromise the job we are doing with discussing anything regarding a possible adjudication on there as hearsay can damage a complainants or respondents position before the committee have even heard a case. Also, please be wary of whether something you post could offend another member of the League before you post it.
If you can AT ALL POSSIBLE, please also either picture message me your card on the Thursday after a match, or scan and email/fax it to me, or even write out the order and results on a facebook message or forum post. At least it means I can get the averages bang up to date every week.
AND DON’T FORGET TO MARK YOUR CARD WITH HOME OR AWAY.

CONTACT RULES FOR COMPETITIONS
How to contact opposing players when a competition is drawn:-
The home player must offer the away player 3 non-consecutive dates between first contact and the day before the match must be played to the away player and a mutual agreement reached to play the match.
The length of time for which this first contact must be made is marked as Contact Window of the draw calendar.
If the home DRAWN player cannot make contact with the opposing player then they MUST contact the Secretary or another committee member to inform them that they cannot make contact.
If the secretary cannot make contact with the originally drawn away player within the remaining time to play the match, then the home drawn player will go through with a walkover.
If contact has not been made by the home drawn player within the first 50% of the available match days then the away drawn player becomes the home player and the home drawn player becomes the away player. Contact must then be made as previously.
If the secretary cannot make contact with originally drawn home playerwithin the remaining time to play the match, then the originally away drawn player will go through with a walkover.
All contact numbers supplied must be an active number for the particular player. Amendments must be notified to ‘LDWRPL’.
