School Council to bring these Minutes to School Council Meeting on 24th June

What has gone well in your class at school this year?

Siena: Going to Roves farm, rock climbing, the art studio in class, the writing area, spelling tests and our trip to the seaside.

Ravenna: English- writing about Gods and Goddesses, letter writing to aliens. Playtimes on the field, colouring and adding/ subtracting in maths.

Venice: Listening, concentrating in R.E, focusing, being sensible, cross-stitch, pirate ships, being nice to one another, gold stars and traffic lights.

Pompeii: Art week, pottery, sports week, maths test, enjoyed topic work, science experiments and swimming lessons.

Verona:English and Maths.

Assisi:Maths, Science, Art, Sports week, Art week and Young Voices.

Rome: Maintaining concentration and not having a meltdown over SATs. Everyone knows production lines and we are more mature.

What have you enjoyed most about school this year?

Siena: Maths, Sports day and learning about tallies.

Ravenna: Meditation- allowing Jesus to come to us, Art week and maths activities.

Venice: Science, playtime, our class assemblies, singing. Guided reading, maths, the robot and keeping butterflies.

Pompeii:After school clubs, Hook day on day 1, rock climbing, maths, swimming, break times, eating outside, extra tasks and golden time.

Verona:Art week and sports week.

Assisi:Our teacher, Coleshill, Trips, 60s Topic and the Olympics.

Rome:Reading, the production, sports week, art week, PE, independence, Mine craft homework, Clifton Cathedral and Mitch the football guy.

How has behaviour been in your class this year?

Siena: Nice but still saying silly things.

Ravenna: A little noisy, but good as well.

Venice: Sort of in the middle, 60/100. Ok. Good.

Pompeii:Ok, although sometimes we have been getting really silly and chatty.

Verona:Good most of the time.

Assisi:Good.

Rome:Good until now. Typical of Year 6.

What has helped you to learn well this year?

Siena: Number lines, digraphs around the room, 100 square, listening, doing what you are told and thinking what you are doing.

Ravenna: Sitting in silence, learning from our mistakes and using our fingers in maths.

Venice: The teacher’s explanations, examples of what we have to do, our worksheets and traffic lights because you are trying harder to do the right thing.

Pompeii:Homework, assessments so CT can know what we are stuck on and then goes through it again to help us.

Verona:Lots of practice of skills, teachers and TAs.

Assisi:Resources, asking the teacher, friends and rhymes.

Rome:Mrs Martin, jelly babies, booster and setting for maths.

What has made you feel safe in school this year?

Siena: Grown-ups, doors, fire drill, teachers, the school building and listening to teachers.

Ravenna: Teachers taking care of us, staying with friends and fire practises.

Venice: The fire alarm, the teachers, my friends, family and the school surroundings.

Pompeii:Being with my teacher, when we talked about how to be safe on the internet, having anti-bullying ambassadors and staying close to our friends.

Verona:Anti-bullying ambassadors.

Assisi:Mrs Ball manning the door as she knows everyone who works here and will keep us safe.

Rome:Anti-bullying ambassadors, Junior Good citizen, security doors, teachers, learning from getting lost and fences.

If the school has dealt with any bullying this year, how have they dealt with it?

Siena: Tell the teacher and they listen to you.

Ravenna: The teacher on the playground duty spoke with the bully.

Venice: With the bully box (we have never used it).

Pompeii:Telling a teacher/ anti bullying ambassadors/ someone close who you trust. Standing up for ourselves.

Verona:None!

Assisi: Always dealt with of reported.

Rome:We aren’t aware of any.

Have you taken part in any after-school clubs this year?

Siena: Gymnastics, Piano, football, swimming, martial arts and rugby.

Ravenna: Rainbows, rugby, swimming, football, gymnastics and ice-skating.

Venice:Homework club, roaring rugby, football and St. Mary’s.

Pompeii:Football, forest school, homework, netball, gymnastics, kids club and young carers.

Verona:Football, netball, cricket, rugby, homework club and up cycling.

Assisi:Cricket, football boys/girls, coding booster, netball and homework.

Are there any other clubs you would like to be available next year?

Siena: Gymnastics, swimming, rugby and trumpet lessons.

Ravenna: Gymnastics, tennis, music club, irish dancing and basketball.

Venice:Roaring rugby, gymnastics, tennis, girls football and swimming.

Pompeii:Homework, basketball, tennis, arts and crafts, cricket, French, badminton, gymnastics, swimming, get fit, volleyball, bowling and KS2 rugby.

Verona:Basketball, cooking, tennis and karate.

Assisi:Basketball, hockey, computing, archery, table tennis, photography and art.

Rome:As above.

How could we improve our school for next year?

Siena: Children behaving, by listening more and new toys.

Ravenna: Focus on handwriting and concentrate more.

Venice: Don’t mess around, more names down if whispering, have an art gallery, decorate the playtime, try really hard and make an art room.

Pompeii:More play equipment, fish tank like St. Mary’s, swings for the playground and slides. Trampoline and star of the day.

Verona:More glue.

Assisi:Think about how we move around the school, more equipment for the playground and having a trampoline.

Rome:More external visitors, separate history lessons, more opportunities to share books, regular themed weeks, more after school clubs, more PE, more equipment on playground, fencing club, chill out area and a backup date for Sports day.
