Adaption Notes for MS Project 2003 Lab

Goal

In this lab you will learn how to use MS Project to help track the progress of projects.

I Start MS Project 2007

1. Go to Start -> All Programs ->Microsoft Office->Microsoft Office Project 2007

II Create a Project

Turn on Project Guide (if it is not already on)

1.  Select View->Turn On Project Guide from the menu bar

2.  Select Project->Project Information… from the menu bar

3.  Give your project a start date. I recommend September 11-12 (whichever day you met with Dag to do project Q&A on). Hit OK after setting your start date.

III Adding Tasks/Subtasks

Correction:

m = minutes; h = hours; d = days; w= weeks; mo = months;

? = uncertain duration (no number with this option)

IV Adding Effort Column

Alternative:

1.  Highlight Start column and select Insert Column… instead of going to Insert->Column on the menu bar
