AdairCounty Youth Action Committee

A group of teens and adults are appointed by the Adair County Extension Council to serve as an advisory committee to the Extension Council on issues related to youth programs. Their responsibilities include:

  1. Review county 4-H and Youth policy on an annual basis and make recommendations for changes.
  2. Assist with interpretation of rules and regulations when questions arise and serve as the first step in an appeals process.
  3. Gather input from county fair participants and superintendents to make recommendations on the schedule, classes, rules and regulations for the 4-H and FFA division at the county fair.
  4. Assist with on-going needs assessment of youth and volunteers that work with youth in AdairCounty.
  5. Review youth programming in AdairCounty and make recommendations on how staff and financial resources should be allocated to meet the needs of youth including under represented populations.
  6. Help secure resources to support youth programming in AdairCounty.
  7. Develop and oversee a plan to market Extension youth programs.
  8. Maintain a system for recognizing youth program participants and volunteers.
