Activities of Adult Life:

Vision Statement: The aim of all individuals is to become self-sufficient adults who are full participants in society. To this end, students must develop a vast array of educational, social and vocational skills. Students with learning and/or communication disabilities need time, direct instruction and repeated practice to attain and retain these skills. The goal of the LLD5 Activities of Adult Life classes is for students to acquire the skills they need to lead independent lives in their community.

In this class students will engage in activities designed to develop and maintain vocational skills, social skills and life skills. These include, but are not limited to, community-based instruction where students make trips into the community to learn and practice the social skills necessary to participate appropriately in a variety of environments such as restaurants and businesses; basic instruction in self-care and daily living; vocational skills, and job exploration.
