**ACTIVITIES/EVENTS and THINGS TO KNOW**

**Congratulations to the fabulous women who make up the Sunset Women’s Track team for being Co-Champions of the Metro League! The women were undefeated during the regular season, placed 2nd at the District meet and share the league title with Jesuit. Several Apollos will be traveling to Eugene for the OSAA State Championship Meet on Thursday, May 24th thru May 25th. Representing Sunset High and the Metro League are: Taylor Coon – 1st 100 meter AND 1st place 200 meter, Nicole Griffiths 1st in the 1500 meter, Sarah Fahmy 1st in the 3000 meters AND 2nd in the 1500 meters, Savannah Sharp 1st in the Discus AND 2nd in the Shot Put, Madeline O’Leary 2nd in the Discus, Hayley Gooding 1st in the Pole Vault, and the 4X100 Relay team consisting of Mary Grace Roselli, Payton Coon, Maddie Thom, and Taylor Coon. This 4X100 Relay team set a new District Meet record and a new School record. Three men will be traveling to Eugene as well after placing either 1st or 2nd place in their events. Eric Zechenelly was 1st in the 400 AND 2nd in the 300 Hurdles, Joe Reidl was 2nd in the Triple Jump, and AJ Smith was 2nd in the 110 High Hurdles. Congratulations and good luck to all.

**Sunset athletes are on a roll! Congratulations to the Doubles Tennis Team of Brian McKittrick and Ian Paik who WON the State Doubles Title at the OSAA State Tennis Championships this past week. Ryan Chin and Jared Lin, both 10th graders, placed 3rd at the State competition in Men’s Doubles. Overall, Men’s Tennis placed 2nd in State. Congratulations on a job well done!

**Anyone interested in playing 2013 football come to the meeting in the Auditorium on May 28th beginning at 2:45pm.

**A pre-season meeting for anyone interested in running Cross Country in the fall has been scheduled for Thursday, May 30th at 2:40 pm in Coach Neeway’s room – H-17. The meeting will include information about the summer running schedule.

**It’s time to “Kiss” the Seniors Goodbye. Between May 20th and May 31st, a $1.00 will buy you an opportunity to send a senior a special message. This is happening in the lower commons during both lunches.

**Auditions for the end-of-the year Apollos Unplugged are scheduled for May 28th and May 29th, during AT and afterschool in the Choir Room. Apollos Unplugged, Senior Night, will be held on June 7th in the lower commons, with a start time of 7:00 pm. Admission to this “farewell event” is $4.00. Guests and participants wear your college t-shirts/sweatshirts.

**”Life’s A Happy Song” is the theme of this year’s Variety Show (sponsored by the Choir Dept) and it will be held on May 31st and June 1st at 7:00 pm in the Auditorium. Donations will be accepted at the door.

**The Apollo Yearbook is selling past yearbooks. If you have missed out on purchasing a past Sunset yearbook, you still have the chance to buy one on Wednesday, May 29th thru Friday, May 31st in the A-Hall concessions stand during lunches. Prices range from $10-$30.00 depending on the year. Email us at for exact quotes or more information.

**Yearbooks can be ordered through the Business Office for $65.00. Get your order in before the price goes up!

**SENIORS**

**Tickets for the graduation ceremony at the Chiles Center will be available for pickup in the Main Office. Each student is eligible to pickup 8 tickets, with the option of requesting 4 additional tickets. The additional tickets will be available for pickup beginning May 20th. Receiving your tickets is dependent upon not having any fees/fines. Check with the Business Office to make sure you are in the clear!

**ApolloGrams are now available in the Main Office or on-line. This is an excellent and free way to express your congratulations, best wishes or share memories with that soon-to-be grad. Bring your completed Apollo Grams to the Main Office before May 31st.
