Accommodation Guidance for New Comers

Dear all,

Warm welcome to Nanjing University! To ensure you have a very pleasant stay in dorms on Xianlin Campus, please pay attention to the notes below:

  1. Please be sure to live in the exact room that has been assigned to you. Changing rooms without notification is not allowed.Rooms are randomly assigned to individual. If you do need to change the room due to some reasons, please notify the staff in Management& Service Office(Tel: 89681018).
  1. After check-in, you will get a key-card with which you can open the door of your own room. If the key-card is lost or damaged, you will be charged 15 yuan to get a new one. Therefore, please make sure to keep it well. The laundry room is on the ground floor, next to the Management& Service Office. The washing machines can be operated by an exclusive coin(not RMB), which can be purchased in the Management& Service Office and costs 3 yuan. Supermarkets are located in the downstairs of Dorm No. 2 and No. 3, the opposite side of Dorm No. 23, and downstairs of Canteen No. 10.
  1. In case you need to send or receive the mails, the address of Xianlin Campus is No.163 Xianlin Avenue, Qixia District, Nanjing Zip code is 210023(江苏省南京市栖霞区仙林大道163号，邮编210023). All the mails and packages will be kept in the Mail Delivery Room(right side of the main gate), instead of deliver to your dorms directly. Please go there to pick it up.
  1. You need to pay for the extra use. You should go to the Electricity Power Service Center, which is located in southwestern corner of District A in Dorm No. 1 to buy electricity. Top-up can be operated at the self-service machine or at the Electricity Power Service Center.Power failures repair please call 89681118.
  1. There is an entrance guard system on the ground floor. Please read your campus card when you enter the building. Besides,the campus card is widely used in library, students’canteens, supermarkets, hospitals and swimming baths on campus,so remember to bring it along with you all the time. If there are any problems on campus card, please phone to: 89686529 to consult the staffs.
  1. It is forbidden to use high power electrical equipment in dorms (like electric stove, electric kettle, and so on), for you own safety. Do not to bring any equipment (electrical or other) to your room, or display materials onto the premise. Smoking is also forbidden in dorms. Please make sure you treat the facilities and the university premises with care.You should be ordered to pay compensation for the breakages on the objects in dorms.
  2. If you find any damages on the furniture or water and electricity facilities, please notify to the staffs in the Management& Service Office on the ground floor of dorm building and let them to help you to repair the facilities.
  1. When you leave for a long time or come back after a long holiday, you should dothe registration in the Management& Service Officeon the ground floor of dorm building. It is forbidden to accommodate any guests in dorms. Any guests who visit your dormsfor a short time should do a registration in theManagement& Service Office.
  1. If you discover fires in dorms, please call the safety services officeor 119 immediately: 89685110.
  1. When youcheck out, you should submit the key card, controller for air-conditioner, accommodation card to Management& Service Office.
