ACCESS TO BOOK

PROCEDURES

(For Member’s Information)

IMPORTANT NOTES
1. / BOOKS WILL BE ACCESSIBLE TO MEMBERS ONLY AS PER THE LIST APPEARING ON THE WEBISTE. ANY PERSON WHO CONSIDERS THAT HIS/HER NAME HAS BEEN MISSED SHOULD CONTACT THE SECRETARY.
2. / IDENTIFICATION OF MEMBERS SHALL BE MADE BY THE RECEPTIONIST AT REGUS BY MEANS OF NATIONAL IDENTITY CARD (NIC). THE NIC SHALL BE KEPT IN THE CUSTODY OF RECEPTIONIST, AS FROM PRESENTATION UP TO TIME OF RETURN OF BOOKS. HENCE NO MEMBER WILL BE ALLOWED ACCESS TO THE LIBRARY SHOULD HE/SHE BE UNABLE TO PRESENT HIS/HER NIC. NON-MEMBERS ACCOMPANYING A MEMBER WILL BE DENIED ACCESS TO THE LIBRARY.
STEP 1 / - / Member calls in at the Reception, requests access to the Library and presents his/her NIC.
STEP 2 / - / Member will be handed over a LIST OF BOOKS pamphlet wherein he/she will be requested to select a maximum of 3 books/magazine/journal for consultation.
STEP 3 / - / Receptionist enters codes of the selected books/magazine/journal in the Log sheet and leads the Member to the Library Room where Receptionist will retrieve the books and hand over same to the Member.
STEP 4 / - / Upon completion of consultation of document received Member calls the Receptionist (from the phone available in the Library) and hand over the documents which are filed back in the cupboard immediately thereafter.
STEP 5 / - / Receptionist and Member return to the Reception where the Receptionist hands back the Member’s NIC and the Member signs the Log Book acknowledging return of his/her NIC.
OTHER NOTES:
1. / OPENING DATES AND TIME
Tuesdays and Fridays (Noon to 17h30) except public holidays
2. / SEATING CAPACITY
The Library can only accommodate a maximum of 4 people at a time. Should a member be faced with full seating capacity, the lounge at TV Area may be used (subject to availability) as directed by the Receptionist.
3. / PARKING
Visitor’s parking may be accessible subject to availability.
4. / CARE OF READING MATERIALS
A Member shall be deemed to act responsibly with reading materials by preventing any damage to book (e.g torn pages, handwriting etc.). The MAQS reserves the right to claim refund should a Member be found to have been negligent in the above respects.
