TICKET INFORMATION

Middlesbrough Town Hall has a limited capacity; therefore we can only guarantee an allocation of 2 guest tickets to each graduand. Although you may apply for additional tickets, we are unable to promise that such requests will be met, and you are therefore advised not to make arrangements for more than 2 guests to attend.

Admission to the Town Hall is strictly limited to tickets holders.

Closing date for booking tickets is Friday 25th October 2013. Tickets will be mailed out week commencing Monday 28th October 2013.

SPECIFIC NEEDS/DISABILITY INFORMATION

It is important that you let us know in advance about any specific arrangements required for you or your guests, in particular wheelchair use in order for us to allocate a suitable space within the Hall. MOBILITY ACCESS TO THE TOWN HALL

Access to the Town Hall is via a chair lift for people who experience difficulty climbing the stairs at the front entrance of the building. However, there is no lift access within the Town Hall so guests with walking difficulties may find it difficult to access seats in the balcony or gallery. Staff will be available to assist but as access via the chair lift can be slow we advise you to arrive an hour before the ceremony starts.

CHILDREN

The Awards Ceremonies are a dignified occasion lasting approximately one hour and are not considered suitable for babies or small children. There is no space within the seating for pushchairs so guests will be asked to store them elsewhere. All children 3 years and over require their own seat and guest ticket.

AWARD CERTIFICATE

If you do not attend your graduation ceremony your award certificate will be posted to you at your permanent home address.

The name on your certificate will be your official name, i.e. the name on official documentation, for example your Passport. You can have this name amended, for example, if you wish your family name to appear before your first name(s).

CHANGING YOUR PERSONAL DETAILS

You must provide official documentary evidence prior to any changes being made to your personal record. Please note that name changes can only be made during your period of study on your course. Acceptable forms of documentation are:

  • Birth Certificate
  • Statutory Declaration
  • Marriage Certificate
  • Divorce Certificate (& Birth Certificate if reverting to maiden name)
  • Deed Poll
  • Passport

As soon as documentary evidence is received by the Academic Registry, your personal record will be amended.

DEADLINE FOR THE SUBMISSION OF OFFICIAL NAME CHANGES

You must notify Finance and Student Recordsas soon as possible and at least 6 weeks prior to the Awards ceremony taking place.The final deadline date is Friday 10 October 2013in order for official changes to be made to Award Certificates. Any changes after that date will ultimately require the reprinting of the Award Certificate and will only be carried out upon payment of a £50 fee.

CEREMONY STREAMING & RECORDING

Ceremonies willbe recorded and ‘streamed live’on the Teesside University Website . A DVD of your particular ceremony will be available to purchase and can be ordered online at

PHOTOGRAPHIC SERVICES

The ceremony is a dignified ceremonial occasion, therefore graduands and their guests are asked to refrain from using cameras and video recorders during the ceremony in order to avoid disruption to the proceedings.

Success Photography is the official University photographer and will be located in the Sports Hall of the Brittan Building. They can provide a photograph of you on stage receiving your award as well as studio photographs of you and your family.
