Academic Advisement Center

At Buffalo State, we believe that excellent academic advising is central to the college’s commitment to teaching and learning. Our Academic Advising Center will help you to become a member of our college community, to think critically about your roles and responsibilities as a student, and to become a citizen of a democratic society and a global community.

We believe excellent academic advising will engage you, accept you, challenge you and help you realize your fullest potential. We emphasize three areas: helping you make decisions about your academic career, helping you understand college programs and policies, and helping you to identify and meet your goals.

The Academic Advisement Center serves all Buffalo State students and carries a primary responsibility for serving undeclared exploring students. The AAC facilitates the advisement process for exploring students who have not yet formally declared an academic major. We pair students with dedicated faculty and staff advisors who work with you several times each semester to help you consider course registration, possible programs, potential careers, and how to negotiate any difficulties you may encounter along the way. For your advisor assignment, please see the link below.

The AAC also provides academic advisement development and assistance to all interested faculty and staff at Buffalo State.

For the convenience of all Buffalo State students, the AAC also maintains an Advisement Assistance Office in the Butler Library StudyQuad.

The Academic Advisement Center extends an open door to all students. We hope to work with you.
