I interview the test-takers in Somali, I guide the conversation to explore the abilities and limits of the individual’s oral Somali language abilities. During the course of the interview, I guide to engage in a variety of tasks such as describing, narrating, and hypothesizing. I score the test using the following scale: Superior, Advanced High, Advanced Mid, Advanced Low, Intermediate High, Intermediate Mid, Intermediate Low, Novice High, and Novice Mid.

I write an entire Somali course. Each course consists of 20 chapters, and each chapter teaches a “real-life” conversation to the student. I translate lessons based on relevant and real conversations. The conversations serve as the “textbook” for instruction. Each of conversation is taught part by part in order to maximize the students’ retention of the foreign language. I ensure and provide exceptional translations, I provide literal translations, understood meanings, phonetic transcriptions, and idiomatic expressions where necessary.
