Abstract Plus Initial Installation Instructions

Update Instructions for Abstract Plus – February 2007
This update includes the new NAACCR version 11 edits.
You may need to request assistance from your Information Systems (IS) department to install the updated files.
1. Go to MCR web site or click on –
http://mcr.umh.edu/mcr-absresources.html
2. Select - Abstract Plus (Initial download)
a. Prompt: Only authorized users may proceed Click OK
b. Prompt: This site is password protected, do you still want to enter: Click OK
c. Prompt: Script Prompt: What is the password – type in the white box: moabstractplus Click OK
d. correct - press OK again
3. Select Abstract Plus Initial Install
a. you will receive a prompt – Do you want to run or save this file? Press – Run
b. A prompt will appear, asking to verify Unknown Publisher. Click Run
4. Install Shield Wizard will appear.
a. “Welcome to the Install Shield Wizard for Abstract Plus" appears, select NEXT.
5. Install/Reinstall instructions, read text
select NEXT.
6. User Name: UMHC User
Organization: University of Missouri Health Care
Select Next
May or may not say –
Install This Application For:
Only for Me
Unless there are several Abstract Plus users on this computer then select:
For Any one who uses this computer
Select NEXT.
7. Select FINISH when "Install Shield Wizard Complete."
8. Close C:\drive by clicking X, right top-hand corner.
9. Abstract Plus installed on the C:\drive
Abstract Plus is now installed.
1. Copy the current MDBS file from the c:\drive. Make a copy. Right click, select Copy, Scroll to end of folders, right click and Paste. Re-name file to MDBS copy.
2. Uninstall the Abstract Plus
Select START click on (Programs)
Abstract Plus - Select (Uninstall Abstract Plus)
3. Next, install the most recent upgrade, by going to MCR’s Abstract Plus Upgrade/Download web page (password: moabstractplus) and choose the Abstract Plus 2.01.20 version 110 for download.
Open the Abstract Plus program by going to START, - PROGRAMS
Select Abstract Plus, Abstract Plus
Sign in to Abstract Plus using your password
a. Select Help then click on About
b. Verify that Abstract Plus version is 2.01.20 (01/17/2007)
c. Collaborative Staging Algorithm version should be 010300.
d. Verify that the NAACCR Conversion version is 4.1.0.
Press OK
Then click on Administration, then System Configuration, Edits options tab then click on Configure Individual Edits
Third column “Suppressed Edit” needs to have three changes.
Double click on the ‘Yes’ square to suppress the three items below.
1. Follow-up Source Central (NAACCR)
2. Patient ID Number (SEER CASENUMBER)
3. Sequence Number—Central (SEER SEQUENCE)
Then select OK.
Next go to Administration chose Display Fields
You will only need to change 1 default value on the right side Fields in Display Type: For MOHOSP –
RX SUMM—Surg Site 98-02. Highlight the field and click on (Properties) then change the Default Value to (99). Then press OK to Save then OK.
