New board members:
Gregg and Kim asked to be part of GSLL board of directors. Gregg and Kim gave a quick resume about themselves and asked any questions they had about the league. After each member had the opportunity to talk and ask questions they left the board meeting. Steve made a motion, Gail seconded the motion and all were in favor. Gregg will be a general member and Kim will be Communications Director.
EZ will be the minors director.
Update:
Aura Lee talked with Tim M and advised Tim due to work constraints she would not be able to be Player Agent for the spring 2012 season. Aura Lee would like to remain on the board and is willing to be OOD and help in other ways as long as her work schedule will allow.
Registrations totals are 186 girls and 23 volunteers.
EZ would like to be a majors manager for the next season. Dan would like to be minors. Dan has since changed to a majors coach. Art, Gregg and Jr would like to be junior coaches.
San Tan LL has until Friday to advise Chester if they will disband or not.
Gregg and Frank requested to be part of the coaches committee.
Cash balance as of 1/19/11 is $37,158.62.
Steve got a bid from Sniders and T’s & More for uniforms for the spring. In lieu of ordering visors at the cost of about $2500, the board elected to upgrade the shirts based on Steve’s recommendation. The shirts will be a dry wicking material, will be a variety of sizes for each team and will be numbered #1-13. Shirt prices will be $13.50-$16.50 per shirt.
If there are any shirt sponsors the deadline is 2/13 and shirts will be ordered on 2/14.
LOF will be on 8 shirts all of ponytail division. Gail advised she has a $1000 sponsor that will be on 2 team shirts and Auto Glass will be on all the major shirts. Auto Glass to also receive recognition on website, plaque and banner on the field.
Dan gave opening day update. Girls should start arriving around 9:15 and parade will begin around 9:30. There is a National Anthem singer scheduled, the Mayor will appear to throw the first pitch, a group photo will be taken by Grand Photography, Tim M will give a speech. Dan gave outline of set up for food, bouncies, booths, etc. Dan estimates to come in below last year costs.
Draft Update:
There will be announcement that will be sent to everyone in the league about the upcoming draft changes.
A Draft Committee was formed. Chair is Steve, Al, Gregg, Ray and Jr will also be on the committee. Committee is to meet by Friday, 1/20/2012 to establish draft procedures and notification for the league.
Decisions:
GNLL offered to sale their 20’ storage container to GSLL at the cost of $2k. Steve was given permission by the board to counter offer $1000 and to not exceed the total amount of $1500. (Motion from Gregg, 2nd from Steve, all in favor).
Spring poker tournament to be held on 3/31.
Mandatory coaches clinic will be held 1/28 from 9-12pm at Old Mcqueen.
