Background
The Robert L. Behrens CCIM Scholarship honors the memory of Robert L. Behrens, CCIM, for his contributions and dedication to the CCIM Institute and its chapters. The Robert L. Behrens CCIM Scholarship was created in March 2017 with matching funds provided by the CCIM Foundation. Named endowed scholarships honor those who have shown great dedication, commitment, outstanding achievement and service to the commercial real estate industry.
About the Colorado/Wyoming CCIM Chapter
The Colorado/Wyoming CCIM Chapter‘s goal is to provide premier networking and educational opportunities to commercial real estate professionals. More than just brokers, CCIMs includes leasing professionals, investment counselors, asset managers, appraisers, corporate real estate executives, property managers, developers, institutional investors, commercial lenders, attorneys, bankers, and other allied professionals.

About the North Carolina CCIM Chapter
The North Carolina CCIM Chapter is dedicated to providing its members with the highest quality educational programs, promoting the highest ethical standards in commercial real estate, and providing a forum where its member can learn, network and prosper in order to deliver the highest quality commercial real estate services to its customers and clientele.

About the CCIM Foundation
The CCIM Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The Mission of the CCIM Foundation is to advance and foster commercial real estate education through scholarships, programs and initiatives.

Scholarship Program Guidelines
The Robert L. Behrens CCIM Scholarshipwas created to support qualified real estate professionals in the final step of their efforts to achieve the CCIM designation for the Course Concepts Review (“CCR”) and Comprehensive Exam (“Comp Exam”). Recipient should exemplify the high caliber of professionals that comprise the CCIM Institute. The CCIM Institute hosts the Comprehensive Exam twice annually (Spring and Fall). The awarding chapter may choose to award the scholarship for either the scheduled Spring or Fall CCR and Comp Exam.

ScholarshipSelection Criteria
Includes the following:

  • Each applicant should be able to demonstrate a commitment to a commercial real estate career (see application).
  • Each applicant should be able to demonstrate that he/she is a Candidate member of the CCIM Institute.
  • Each applicant should be able to demonstrate active involvement as a dues paying member with the Colorado/Wyoming CCIM Chapter or North Carolina CCIM Chapter (see application).
  • Recipient of this scholarship should have a need for financial assistance.

Scholarship Value

Recipient will receive $500 to offset the costs associated with both the CCIM Course Concept Review Course and Comp Exam.

Procedure/Schedule
Each year, $500 will be available to a candidate in both the Colorado/Wyoming CCIM Chapter AND the North Carolina CCIM Chapter.

Deadline for Submission to the respective CCIM Chapter:
At least one month prior to the date the date of the CCIM Comprehensive Exam.

Recipient Notification
The respective CCIM Chapter will notify the recipient on or before the date of the Comprehensive Exam.
