JAPN 2401 Chapter ３ポッドキャスト: 三分間クッキング
Please help recreate Schneider sensei’s favorite cooking show, 三分間クッキング. You will be in the cooking show with a partner.
Your mission: You will present a 3-minute segment cooking show complete demonstration as a radio program on SMU Japanese Program podcasting site.
Think of a simple recipe that takes no more than five ingredients and eight steps. Salads and soups are good, but anything is good.
1) First please listen to sensei’s demonstration. The first one is between friends. The second one is cooking master and assistant.

Note: My recording is under 2 minutes. You don’t need to make a very long one. You just have to cover all the points below.
Then use Audacity to record your program.
You may have to stop and switch who is talking using the microphone. Save often. Edit if necessary. At the end, export as .mp3. Give the file name with dishname and initials like “curryriceks.mp3”
2) You need to
1. Introduce yourselves and establish the relationship (determines the politeness level)
2: say the name of the dish
3: explain ingredients
4: explain the steps
All members in the team should have close to equal amount of talking time.
3) Language requirements
1: Determine your politeness level
When you talk to the audience, it will be polite. Decide the politeness level when you talk to each other. Friends? Cooking master? Assistant? (very polite, polite or casual)
2: During the course of cooking show, you must use
1)Request at the appropriate level
2)Negative request at the appropriate level
3)Express willingness for help at the appropriate level

5)はじめに／まず
6)それから／つぎに／そして
7)さいごに
8)〜たら to explain the steps
4) Technical instruction to submit audio files in the system
1.Go to
2.Log in with (everybody has one login. DO NOT MESS WITH IT!)
Username =
Password = Japanese
3.Go to “Manage” -> “Media Files”
4.Browse the .mp3 file you created and description with dish name and members initial (Curry Rice ks)
5.Click upload
