ADTTA FIXTURES TEMPLATE for 2012-13

HANDICAP COMPETITIONS 2012 - 13

  1. HANDICAP KO CUP for all league teams:

The KO Cup will be a straight forward knockout cup. All teams in the 4 leagues are entered for this cup. Team secretaries will be informed of player’s handicaps the week prior to the KO Cup commencing.

Individual matches will be played up to 56 points and the conclusion of a match will be when ateam wins 5 games.

The KO Cup first round will commence on w/b 12th November 2011.

The draw will take place prior to this date and I will circulate this to all team secretaries.

  1. LEAGUE CUP COMPETITIONS:

The League Cup Competition matches are due to commence w/b 29th October 2011.

The draw will take place prior to this date and I will circulate this to all team secretaries.

NORTH of SCOTLAND SHIELD for Division 1 and 2 teams

This competition will involve 13 teams and will be a straight knockout competition.

GRAMPIAN TROPHY for Division 3 and 4 teams

This competition will involve 13teams and will be a straight knockout competition.

All 3 Divisional Competitions will be played in a different format to the KO Cup, whereby the match winner will be the team with the most points after all 9 singles matches, played to 56 points up, are completed.

In the event of a tie the team with the higher number of outright single game victories will progress.

HANDICAP COMPETITION RULES:

1.Matches will be between teams of three players, each playing one game up to 56 points against each member of the opposing team.

2.A game is deemed to be complete when either player has scored 56 points. This means that a player can win 56-55.

3.All games should start with the score at each player’s individual respective handicap e.g. Player A’s handicap is 23 and Player B’s handicap is 36 so if Player A serves first the scoring starts at 23 - 36.

4.Service will change after each five points scored.

The number of serves to be allocated at the start of the match is worked out as follows:-

Player A has a handicap of 6 and Player B has a handicap of 25, add these handicaps together to make 31. Therefore the next change of serve would be at 35 points, so four serves would be allocated to the person serving first. Once these have been completed, you carry on with five serves per person.

5. Calculation for working out when to change sides for up to 56 Handicap Cup Matches.

Player A handicap is 6 and Player B Handicap is 24.

Player A would change ends at 31. Calculation is 56 – 6 = 50 / 2 = 25 + 6 = 31

Player B would change ends at 40. Calculation is 56 – 24 = 32 / 2 = 16 + 24 = 40

Individual handicaps will be broadly similar to those allocated last season but some minor adjustments may be made before or during the competition to reflect prevailing perceived levels of performance and/or results.
