LEVERS

1.  Cut up all the different levers from the handout and then divide a page from your workbook into three sections (1st class levers, 2nd class levers and 3rd class levers). Now glue each lever into the relevant section.

2.  Draw the following objects and label the axis, force and resistance as well as labelling the class of lever it is:

a.  Shovel with a load of dirt on it

b.  See-saw with two people on it (one heavy, one light person)

c.  Wheelbarrow full of gravel

3.  Develop a powerpoint presentation on levers. Use all of your resources (internet, text book, teacher). Include the following information:

a.  What are levers?

b.  Examples of levers – sporting and everyday objects

c.  Function of levers

d.  Elements of levers

e.  Explanation of the three classes of levers and diagrams/pictures

f.  ***E-mail the final product to me () by Monday 21 April, 5.00pm***
