SCHOOL HIGHLIGHTS
Celeste Henkel Elementary School is the home to the 2011-12 and 2013-14 Iredell-Statesville Schools’ Principal of the Year, Mr. Jonathan Ribbeck.
The school has been acknowledged as a School of Distinction, and has met expected and high growth. Celeste Henkel was chosen as a Response to Intervention (RtI) Pilot School and has presented about their successes at various district and state conferences.
Celeste is proud of the fact any student who is struggling in any academic area is provided their own individual plan for improvement. These plans are carried out by the teacher, grade level team, and parent.
At Celeste every staff member is working together for the benefit of your child. Students at Celeste are truly thought of as, "Our Students!"

SPECIAL PROGRAMS
The school offers a variety of academic programs including a daily intervention time / enrichment block for all students, exceptional children’s inclusion class with the use of co-teaching, and services for AIG and English as a Second Language. Along with the academic offerings, students can express their interests by taking part in a variety of clubs offered at the school such as Chorus, Odyssey of the Mind, Battle of the Books, Coding, Recycling, and Student Council.
Celeste also has a dedicated PTO and Athletic Organization, which help to expand their student’s educational experiences. Staff members from Celeste Henkel continue to take part in the knowledge sharing process by presenting at the North Carolina Collaborative Conference and the North Carolina Exceptional Children’s Conference. They are proud of their school and they are dedicated to the Celeste motto: “Success for Every Child!”
