- Make arrangements for a meeting place and schedule the session.
- Promote the session in your parish bulletin, parent newsletter, etc., in announcements, and by personal contact. (See enclosed sample “invitation”.) It is very important that you encourage parents and/or guardians to attend this session.
A copy of documentation promoting/advertising education sessions shall be forwarded to the Diocesan Office of Human Resources. A copy shall also be kept on file at the individual location.

- Choose one of the recommended videos and view it in its entirety.
- Carefully review diocesan policies, the Code of Professional Conduct, and the child abuse reporting procedures, and become familiar with them.
- Duplicate the appropriate handout materials to be given only to those adults in attendance.
- Conduct the education session. We recommend that the facilitator tailor his/her comments/discussion to the age-appropriate level of the children in attendance.

Questions/Answers / For younger children, facilitator should encourage children to discuss what they learned today with their parents.
For older children, facilitator will decide on his/her own comfort level in answering questions. In addition, children should be encouraged to discuss what they learned today with their parents.
Dismissal / Advise participants that Bishop Jarrell has designated Ms. Carmer Falgout as the diocesan Victim Assistance Coordinator, 337-235-5749. This person shall minister to the victim, victim’s family or other persons affected.
