A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of William R. Redwine.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to William R. Redwine, and we pause in silent reverence for his soul.

WHEREAS, William R. Redwine was born on January 18, 1920, a native of Elliott County, Kentucky, and he traversed these earthly bounds on February 16, 2003; and

WHEREAS, William R. Redwine was the loving son of the late Tom and Samantha Elliott Redwine; he was the devoted husband of 55 years to Mattie Howard Redwine; he was the loving father of William H. "Billy" Redwine and his wife Susette of Morehead; he was the proud grandfather of a grandson, Brett William Redwine, and a granddaughter, Deveney Shae Redwine; he was the proud uncle of a special niece, Cheryl Barbour Webb and her husband Lamoine of Kettering, Ohio; and he also leaves behind a brother, Charles Redwine, and a sister, Meta Redwine Ketchum; and

WHEREAS, William R. Redwine served his country with pride and distinction in the United States Army during World War II; and

WHEREAS, William R. Redwine graduated from Sandy Hook High School, Bowling Green Business College, Morehead State University, and the University of Kentucky College of Law; and

WHEREAS, William R. Redwine was an active and involved citizen and an esteemed member of the Elliott County community where he practiced law for more than fifty years; he was a former county attorney and trial commissioner for Carter, Elliott, and Morgan District Court; he was a past District Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Kentucky; he was a member and past Master of Hepburn Lodge #576; and he was a member of the Covington Valley of Scottish Rite Masons, the El Hasa Shrine Temple, VFW Post #11428, the Sandy Hook Lions Club, the University of Kentucky Alumni Association, and the Morehead State University Alumni Association, and the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels; and

WHEREAS, the passing of William R. Redwine has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of William R. Redwine, and extends to his family and many friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of William R. Redwine.

Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mrs. Mattie Howard Redwine, P. O. Box 196, Sandy Hook, Kentucky 41171.
