A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of Thomas Daniel Syck.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Thomas Daniel Syck, and we pause in silent reverence for his soul.

WHEREAS, Thomas Daniel Syck was born on October 26, 1925, a native of Pike County, Kentucky, and he traversed these earthly bounds on March 14, 2004; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Daniel Syck was the loving son of the late Jake "J. R." and Emma Charles Syck; he also was preceded in death by seven brothers and two sisters; he was the devoted husband of Sarah Katherine May Syck; he was the loving father of five sons, Gary Davis Snodgrass of Maysville, Danny Keith Syck of Flemingsburg, and Robert David Syck, Jeffery Dale Syck, and Oscar Thomas Syck, all of Pikeville, and two daughters, Deborah Lynn McCoy and Joyce Ann Taylor, both of Pikeville; and he was the proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren, and the proud great-grandfather of 9 great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Daniel Syck served his country with honor and distinction in the United States Navy during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Daniel Syck was a retired carpenter, and he was a member of the Burning Springs Old Regular Baptist Church, where his funeral service was held on March 16, 2004; and

WHEREAS, the passing of Thomas Daniel Syck has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Thomas Daniel Syck, and extends to his family and friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Thomas Daniel Syck.

Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mrs. Sarah Katherine May Syck, 907 Burning Fork Road, Pikeville, Kentucky 41501
