A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of Maurice Peter Ebelhar.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Maurice Peter Ebelhar, and we pause in silent reverence for his soul.

WHEREAS, Maurice Peter Ebelhar was born on October 28, 1929, a native of Daviess County, Kentucky, and he traversed these earthly bounds on March 7, 2004; and

WHEREAS, Maurice Peter Ebelhar was the loving son of the late Peter J. and Claire Weber Ebelhar; he was the devoted husband of 52 years to June Dibble Ebelhar; he was the loving father of six sons, Dr. Maurice Wayne Ebelhar of Leland, Mississippi, Larry C. Ebelhar of Naples, Florida, Dr. Stephen A. Ebelhar of Marion, Illinois, and Peter J. Ebelhar, David Lee Ebelhar, and Richard Ebelhar, all of Owensboro; and two daughters, Sandra Ebelhar Clark of Bowling Green and Donna Ebelhar Diachun of Lexington; he was the loving father-in-law of Annetta Ebelhar, Brenda Ebelhar, Pam Ebelhar, Bonnie Ebelhar, Sarah Ebelhar, Marilyn Ebelhar, Bobby Clark and Daniel Diachun; and he was the proud grandfather of 20 grandchildren; and he also leaves behind two loving brothers, Vincent Ebelhar and Kenneth Ebelhar, both of Owensboro, and three sisters, Margaret Reisz, Lorena Stephen, and Clara Marie Gillis, all of Owensboro; and

WHEREAS, Maurice Peter Ebelhar served his country with pride and distinction in the United States Army during the Korean War; and

WHEREAS, Maurice Peter Ebelhar was an esteemed member of the Daviess County community, where he was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church and Mens Club, and where he also served Burgoo for 51 years at the annual picnic; he was a retired farmer; he was a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus, Sorgho Council No. 6101; he was a charter member of the Daviess County Lions Club; he was a member of the Owensboro Catholic High School athletics booster club; and he was a past president of the Kentucky State Tractor Pullers Association; and

WHEREAS, Maurice Peter Ebelhar enjoyed fishing, golf, NASCAR, University of Kentucky athletics, tractor pulling, and his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, the passing of Maurice Peter Ebelhar has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Maurice Peter Ebelhar, and extends to his family and many friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Maurice Peter Ebelhar.

Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mrs. June Dibble Ebelhar, 2519 Kentucky 1554, Owensboro, Kentucky 42301.
