A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of Donald E. Norman.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Donald E. Norman, and we pause in silent reverence for his soul.

WHEREAS, Donald E. Norman was born on June 10, 1935, a native of Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky, and he traversed these earthly bounds on January 3, 2000; and

WHEREAS, Donald E. Norman was the loving son of the late Edith L. Shelton Norman and Lewis A. Norman; the devoted husband of Margaret Roxanna Jones Norman; and the loving father of a daughter, Donna French, and the proud grandfather of a grandson, Gabriel Hunter French; and

WHEREAS, Donald E. Norman was the caring brother of two sisters, Patsy A. Klein and Mary E. McNutt, and two brothers, Larry A. Norman and Jim L. Norman; and

WHEREAS, Donald E. Norman served his country with distinction in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War; and

WHEREAS, Donald E. Norman was a retired maintenance electrician for American Synthetic Rubber Corporation, and he was a member of Electrical Workers Local 369, Masonic Lodge 1275 in Newfoundland, Sunset and York Rite Masonic lodges, Scottish Rite, Kosair Shrine, Shrine Legion of Honor, International High 12, and American Legion Post 201; and

WHEREAS, Donald E. Norman was a devout member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church where his funeral services were held on Friday, January 7, 2000, with his burial in the Zachary Taylor National Cemetery; and

WHEREAS, the passing of Donald E. Norman has left a void that will be difficult to fill, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby express its most profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Donald E. Norman, and extends to his family its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Donald E. Norman.

Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mrs. Margaret Roxanna Norman, 8128 St. Andrews Church Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40258.
