A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of Christopher L. Luvisi.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Christopher L. Luvisi, and we pause in silent reverence for his soul.

WHEREAS, Christopher L. Luvisi was born on December 12, 1957, and he traversed these earthly bounds on February 10, 2003; and

WHEREAS, Christopher L. Luvisi was the loving son of Lawrence and Mary Luvisi; he was the devoted husband of Anne O'Connor Luvisi; and he was the adored father of a daughter, Catherine S. Luvisi; he was the loving brother of Frank Luvisi of Phoenix, Arizona, and Michael and Stephen Luvisi, both of Louisville; and three loving sisters, Victoria Hurst of Columbus, Ohio, Camille Watkins of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Jennifer Luvisi of Louisville; and he also leaves behind two loving aunts, Betty Jo Timmell of Louisville, and Peggy Richards of New Albany, Indiana; and two loving uncles, Anthony Cissell and George Haddad, both of Louisville; and a loving mother-in-law, Margaret O'Connor of Columbus, Ohio; and he was the proud uncle of 27 nieces and nephews; and

WHEREAS, Christopher L. Luvisi was a graduate of St. Xavier High School, the University of Kentucky, and the University of Louisville, where he received his master's degree and doctorate in education; he was a retired principal from Goshen Elementary School in Oldham County, where he was instrumental in the school receiving the National School of Excellence Award in 2000; he was also employed by the Bardstown City Schools for 12 years, the Kentucky Department of Education, and the Ohio Valley Educational Cooperation; and

WHEREAS, Christopher L. Luvisi was an esteemed member of his community, where he was a member of Transfiguration of Our Lord Catholic Church; he was past president of the Kentucky Association for Gifted Education; he was a recipient of the Louisville Writing Projects Patronus Award and the National Council of Teachers of English Outstanding Leadership Award; and for 13 years, he was a football official for the KFOA, receiving the Howard Turley President's Award in 2001; and

WHEREAS, the passing of Christopher L. Luvisi has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow at the passing of Christopher L. Luvisi, and extends to his family and many friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Christopher L. Luvisi.

Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mrs. Anne O'Connor Luvisi, 10710 Sun Ridge Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40241.
