A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Ramona Joyce Thompson.

WHEREAS, a native daughter of Kentucky, Ramona Joyce Thompson was born January 1, 1943, in Scottsburg and was raised in Hibernia by the late Garland and Mary Raney; and

WHEREAS, Ramona Joyce Thompson was a graduate of New Washington High School in 1960; she was a retired supervisor at the United States Census Bureau in Jeffersonville, Indiana; she and her husband owned and operated Bill's Pawn and Jewelry in Louisville, Kentucky, for 20 years and she was a board member of the National Pawn Brokers Association; she was the member of the National Federation of Independent Businesses; she was the Girl Scouts of America leader of Troop #776; and she and her family operated the Indian Fry Bread booth for more than 30 years at the Harvest Homecoming Festival and other festivals across the Midwest; and

WHEREAS, Ramona Joyce Thompson was the loving wife of William Thompson for 28 years; she was the devoted mother of Joseph G. Prestigiacomo and wife Mary Ann, Pamela Pendleton, Kelli Neafus and husband Billy, and Ramona Prestigiacomo; she was the caring sister of Leon Raney, Wendell Raney and wife Pat, and Terry Raney and wife Janice; she was the adoring grandmother of SPC Tyler Neafus, John Neafus, McKinsey Neafus, Kelly Neafus, Kaitlin Prestigiacomo, Alex Prestigiacomo, Burke Pendleton, Joe Prestigiacomo, and Justin Prestigiacomo; and was the proud great-grandmother of Hayden Neafus and Taylynn Wilson; and

WHEREAS, Ramona Joyce Thompson departed this earthly life on March 10, 2012, at the age of 68; she left a void that cannot be filled and is mourned by her family and friends;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate expresses its most profound sense of sorrow and extends its sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Ramona Joyce Thompson.

Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving memory of Ramona Joyce Thompson.

Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the office of Senator Dan "Malano" Seum for delivery to the family.
