A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in loving memory and honor of Benjamin F. Lowe.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Benjamin F. Lowe, and we pause in silent reverence for his soul.

WHEREAS, Benjamin F. Lowe was born on March 26, 1917, a native of Carter County, Kentucky, and longtime resident of Morehead, Rowan County, Kentucky, and he traversed these earthly bounds on February 3, 2004; and

WHEREAS, Benjamin F. Lowe was the loving son of the late Chris and Effie Boggs Lowe; he was the devoted husband of the late Hazel Black Lowe; he was the loving father of four sons, Greg Lowe of Corryton, Tennessee; Tim Lowe of Kingsport, Tennessee; Jeff Lowe of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; and Rod Lowe of Morehead; he was the loving father-in-law of Patty Lowe, Lois Lowe, Vicky Lowe, and Rhonda Lowe; he was the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren, Mark Lowe, Chris Lowe, Mara Cappiello, Brandis Carlson, Andrea Lowe, Ashley Gasparac, Kristen Lowe, and Courtney Lowe; he was the proud great-grandfather of Gavyn Gasparac, Sierra Lowe, and Carter Lowe; and he also leaves behind five loving sisters, Opal Groover and Jackie Rayburn of Indianapolis, Indiana; Irene Scott of Paintsville; Lena Burns of Bloomington, Indiana; and Charlotte Cecil of Olive Hill; and

WHEREAS, Benjamin F. Lowe served his country with pride and distinction in the United States Army during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Benjamin F. Lowe was an esteemed member of the Rowan County community, where he was retired from General Telephone Company, and he was a farmer; he was a 50 year Mason; he served 16 years on the Rowan County School Board; and he enjoyed hunting and spending time with his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Benjamin F. Lowe was a devout member of First Freewill Baptist Church, where his funeral was held on February 5, 2004; and full military rites were conducted at his graveside by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126; and

WHEREAS, the passing of Benjamin F. Lowe has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The House of Representatives does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Benjamin F. Lowe, and extends to his family and friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Benjamin F. Lowe.

Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mr. Rod Lowe, 245 Ramey Ridge, Morehead, Kentucky 40351.
