A REPORT ON THE VISIT OF MRS. S DHILLON, PRESIDENT (AWWA)
KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA
TENGA VALLEY
DATED: 28TH MAY 2014
The morning hours of 28th May 2014 dawned on us as a blessing with the visit of Mrs. S Dhillon, President (AWWA), well wisher and a Patron of the Vidyalaya. As scheduled, she arrived at the Vidyalaya gate at 10 a.m. from where she was received and escorted into the Vidyalaya in a grand manner by the Color Party from Scout and Guide section. At the reception porch, she was presented with a bouquet by the Principal of the Vidyalaya and felicitated with a Khada by Mrs. Nisha, the senior most teacher. And then our honourable guest made a ceremonial lighting of the lamp. From there she was taken to the Principal’s office where our Principal gave a briefing about the Vidyalaya. After the short briefing she was taken for a round by our Principal Sir showing different departments in the Vidyalaya except for some laboratories which could not be shown as the respective teachers were engaged in the classrooms taking classes. And at 10.45 a.m. a short meeting with the staff was arranged. During the meeting our respected Principal Sir formally welcomed the guests and personally introduced the staff members to Madam Dhillon. After his introduction Mrs. Dhillon addressed the gathering and she applauded the staff saying that all are doing a good job in this remote place like Tenga Valley and urged the staff to continue the good effort. The meeting turned into an informal interactive session in which some of the teacher representatives put forward some points and matters for Mrs. Dhillon to look into and provide us with help. On behalf of all the staff Mrs. Tasleem Vohara put forward some points- Firstly, she asked for increase in the purchasing amount from CSD canteen for the KV staff. Secondly, she requested for the provision of milk and vegetable van in the KV campus, the facility which used to be provided earlier but have been stopped due to unknown reasons. Thirdly, she said that some students are interested in learning knitting, stitching and other work experiences and if she could provide us with some tutors for these children from AWWA at least once a week and also with some Army tutors who can teach proper March Past to the Scout and Guide wing and the NCC members. And then Madam Nisha also voiced her request to provide us with some experts from their unit for the NAEP programmes whenever the Vidyalaya requires. After taking note of all the points put forward Madam S Dhillon assured the staff that she will look into the matter and do her best to resolve all the matters. The interactive session was concluded with a display of power point presentation on the activities of the Vidyalaya and about the Vidyalaya followed by light refreshment. The vote of thanks was given by Madam Nisha which she did beautifully through the words of poetry. The visit of Mrs. S Dhillon was a short one but we believe that she brought luck and blessings for the Vidyalaya. The example of her visit being auspicious was the 100% result of AISSCE 2014 which was announced when she was interacting with the teachers. And we hope that she will continue bestowing her blessings upon the Vidyalaya by contributing for the welfare of the Vidyalaya.
