A Music TOUR from Nashville to Memphis to New Orleans

Oct. 5-15, 2018 – 11 days

We fly (included) into Nashville and join up with a larger group that we will be traveling with throughout the 11 days.

Our transportation on the tour will be on a private first-class motor coach with free Wi-Fi (where available), air-conditioning, extra leg room and emergency restroom.

The tour includes admissions(as listed) to all the major attractions and we go right to the head of the line and through the front door-no waiting in line!

We have an experienced Tour Guide that will travel the 11 days with us as well as Local Guides that will be with us in various locations and also an escort from All Around Travel, Inc.

Breakfast (B) is included each morning (except for the last morning) in addition to 2 lunches and 3 3-course dinners.

10/7: Travel Nashville to Memphis

Visit RCA Studio B, Nashville’s oldest surviving recording studio and make a special recording to take it home

Headed to Memphis, “Home of the Blues.’

Sun Studio in Memphis – probably the most famous recording studio in the world and where rock ‘n’ roll was first record. Careers were started at this studio for Elvis, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and many more.

Stax Museum of American Soul Music, see where Soul music was born for many including Otis Redding, Booker T, Aretha Franklin and more.

Special dinner tonight on vibrant Beale Street with its many music clubs.

Then, spend the next 2 nights at the newly builtGraceland Guest House close to Graceland. The Guest House is designed with classic elegance, modern luxury and is uniquely Elvis.

10/8: In Memphis(B):

Tour around the City of Memphis with Local Guide

GRACELAND – we tour the mansion; see Elvis’ collection of ornate jumpsuits and capes, his original business office, the automobile museum and his enormous collection of gold records and awards.

MEDITATION GARDEN – see where Elvis and members of his family have been laid to rest.

10/9: From Memphis to Clarksdale to Greenwood(B):

Mississippi River- we follow the River and go deep into the Mississippi Delta, the “Birthplace of the Blues”. Considered by many to be the only truly indigenous American Music, the blues has influenced musicians worldwide. Blues legends such as Muddy Waters, Sam Cooke, Ike Turner and John Lee Hooker honed their incredible music talents here.

Delta Blues Museum – explores the history and heritage of the ‘Blues”. See historical images, artifacts, musical instruments and also the remains of the cabin where Muddy Waters lived during his days as a sharecropper.

Special lunch at Ground Zero Blues Club owned by Morgan Freeman.

Rock & Blues Museum – See 50 years of music memories from the 1920’s through the 1970’s. See the evolution of America’s music from Blues, R&B, and rockabilly to rock ‘n’ roll and soul and see how it influenced people all over the world.

Greenwood, Mississippi- Where the Tallahatchie River and Yalobusha Rivers join together and form the Yazoo River which travels 190 miles to join the Mississippi at Vicksburg. Many of the city’s downtown buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We tour the sites and locations used for the 2011 Oscar-winning movie The Help starring Emma Stone.

Special overnight accommodations at the historic Alluvian Hotel. Originally opened in 1917 and now rated by Conde Nast magazine as 1 of the top 10 hotels in the United States

10/10: Greenwood into Natchez(B):

B. B. King Museum – in Indianola, MS hometown of the legendary musician. Explore his 60-plus year career from his time as a sharecropper and his time on Memphis’ Beale Street to the international music star he became. See artifacts and a guitar studio.

Special dinner tonight in an Antebellum Mansion in Natchez, MS.

Overnight at the Hampton Inn

10/11: Natchez, MS to Lafayette, LA(B):

Frogmore Plantation – learn about the trials and triumphs of life on the plantation, from the 1700s to today. See an 1800-acre working cotton plantation, 18 restored antebellum structures that date from the early 1800’s. Learn the history of the early Natchez planters and their slaves; see a rare steam cotton gin.

Louisiana Delta Music Museum for a guided tour and learn stories about Jerry Lee Lewis, Mickey Gilley, Conway Twitty and other Louisiana Delta musicians.

Travel into the heart of Cajun Country

Martin Accordions – learn the history of accordion making; enjoy music and storytelling by the Martin family. See how handmade custom accordions are built. Have been building accordions for musicians for around the world for over 30 years.

10/12: Lafayette to New Orleans(B):

St. Martinsville to see the famous oak tree from Longfellow’s poem, Evangeline.

Cruise on the swampy waters of the Atchafalaya Basin; see moss-draped trees, wildlife,and maybe an alligator.

Great River Road - see where wealthy plantation owners built their monumental homes.

Special lunch today for some Cajun home cooking along the banks of the Atchafalaya River.

Houmas House Plantation- The “Crown Jewel of the Great River Road”. We tour the mansion which is filled with period antiques and Louisiana artwork; also stroll the magnificent gardens.

Next 3 nights at Sheraton New Orleans – located on historic Canal Street just steps from the French Quarter and a short walk to Bourbon Street, The Aquarium of the Americas, IMAX Theater, Riverwalk Marketplace and an assortment of renowned restaurants and boutiques.

10/13: New Orleans(B):

French Quarter – Touring to see sights and sounds of New Orleans, Jackson Square, Pirate’s Alley, above-ground cemetery learning about their unique burial customs.

Along tree-lined St. Charles Avenue and see the stately homes bordering the historic Garden District.

New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park – preserves the history of the people and places that helped shaped New Orleans

  9. All Around Travel, Inc. & Globus cannot provide individual assistance on and off motor coaches, other vehicles or other personal needs. If assistance is needed, you will need to have a qualified and physically able companion accompany you. Some sightseeing stops/sites do not accommodate wheelchairs and scooters. Some locations require extensive standing, sitting or walking sometimes on unpaved areas. You must report any disability requiring special attention prior to making the reservation and paying deposit. Refunds are not made due to if you are unable to participate. Payment of deposit acknowledges receipt and acceptance.
  10. All Around Travel, Inc. & Globus, their heirs and employees are not responsible for circumstances beyond their control including air carriers, accommodations, motor coaches, hotels, restaurants and others service providers.

The vacation participant agrees that above mentioned operators shall not be liable for any damage, loss (including personal injury, death, and property loss), or expense occasioned by any act of omission of any supplier providing services, any insurer or insurance administrator or any other person.

  15. We reserve the right to accept or reject any person and expel any participant if necessary for the comfort, convenience or safety of the other participants, and to cancel a vacation at any time.

  17. Children under 18 years old on the departure date must be accompanied by an adult throughout the trip and must share an adult’s accommodation. If a child is traveling with adults other than the parents or with only one parent, it is recommended that a notarized letter be written by the parents or non-traveling parent granting authorization to travel, including the dates of travel.
  18. There will be daily seat rotation on the Motor Coach.

  21. Hotel rooms have 2-twin beds. Double bedded rooms can be requested but never guaranteed. Hotel check-in times vary. Globus cannot control or guarantee check-in times.
  22. Bag handling at hotels for one suitcase per person is included. Dimensions not to exceed 30‘x 21’x 11” and weigh not more than 50#. Globus and All Around Travel, Inc. not responsible for lost or damaged luggage or contents.
  23. Carry-on luggage not to exceed 12” x 11” x 6”. Wheeled carry-on bags not accepted as hand luggage.
  24. Gratuities are included for wait staff at included meals, hospitality staff at hotels and porterage at hotels for 1 suitcase.
