A message from the Head Teacher
The following information may be of use to you over the coming weeks.Consultation Evenings
Parents’ consultation evenings this term will be held on the following dates:
Monday 23rd March and Tuesday 24th March.
Individual Photographs- Wednesday 25th March
Your child will have their individual photograph taken on Wednesday 25th March. Pupils must wear full school uniform on this date.
Bike it Breakfast – Friday 27th March
Ben Tweedie is arranging a ‘Bike it Breakfast’ on Friday 27th March. Parents and pupils who cycle to school on this date will receive a free breakfast! Please contact the school if your child has an allergy.
Year 6 SATs and Summer Tests
May I remind you that Year 6 SATs will take place during the week beginning Monday 11th May 2014. It is essential that all Year 6 pupils attend school on these dates.
Summer tests for Years 3, 4 and 5 will commence the week beginning the 18th May.
SATs tests for Key Stage 1 will take place between 4th - 22nd May.
Olympic Athlete Event
We have an Olympic volleyball player (Peter Bakare) visiting school who will run a sponsored event on 6th March.
Pupils need to wear their PE kits o this date. / March

Bikes/scooters
Due to health and safety reasons, pupils are not allowed to cycle or scoot in the school playground at any time.
Dance Festival – Tuesday 17th March
If your child is participating in this event, it will take place at the Sage on Tuesday 17th March in the morning.
Red Nose Day – Friday 13th March
The School Council have decided that pupils should wear red on the above date. A donation of 50p to charity would be appreciated.
Sponsored Cycle Ride Event
We have arranged a Sponsored Cycle Ride, for parents and pupils, on Sunday 22nd March at 10.30am.
Parents and pupils will cycle along the Derwent Walk for three miles. If your child does this ride, their name will go in a lucky draw and Ben Tweedie (Sustrans Officer for Gateshead) will pick out the name of the winning pupil on Friday 27th March. The wonderful prize is a bike, generously donated by Ben.
If your child wishes to participate, please complete the attached slip and Sponsorship Form and return it to school with the money collected on or before 27th March.
World Book Day
We will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 5th March. Children are invited to come to school dressed as a character from a book.
Book Fair – Monday 2nd March - Friday 6th March
Parents who want to purchase books can come into the Learning Zone at 3.10-4.00pm on the above dates.

Valentines Discos
Thanks to all who came along to the Valentines Discos on 12th February 2015. The PTA are proud to announce a total of £340 was raised. Well done all.
We Need Your Help
The PTA relies on willing parents to help out. For as little as one hour per month you could help with the following jobs;
Help on a stall at an event***bake a cake***distribute event posters***secure donations***run a club***help organize special projects***fundraising ideas***use your professional skills to help with the management of the committee***join the PTA.
PTA 50:50 Lottery
For as little as £1 per month you can enter our monthly prize draw. Money raised is split between the PTA charity and the monthly prize. Info contact: Carol .Send a Cheque or set up a bank transfer.
