Position Title: Director, Strategic Marketing and Advertising

Position Overview:We are seeking a dynamic and energetic person to lead our faith-based strategic marketing and advertising team. He/She will develop and implement strategic marketing plans for the organization and other client’s programs and products. Our goal is to increase awareness and inform the world of the great works initiated by the people of The United Methodist Church. As the communications agencyof The United Methodist Church, we strive to create innovative marketing strategies and advertising that strengthen our brand, position us to reach the world with our messages of hope and faith and create communication tools that strengthen the local and global church. The successful candidate will work with the Chief Marketing Officer to define the positioning and advertising messages for the church and oversee the promotion of various programs, products and services to optimize efforts in reaching our goal, “to make disciples of Jesus Christ”.

Requirements:

  • This job requires a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field with at least eight years of experience. An MBA in a similar field would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of branding and positioning of brands. Experience in traditional (print, TV etc.) and digital marketing (online and social media marketing, mobile marketing, search engine marketing, search engine optimization, email marketing etc.) and media buy.
  • Experience in developing advertising messages for large brands.
  • Experience in client relationship, coaching, process management and improvement, customer focus, marketing research.
  • Experience using metrics tools such as Google Analytics and other traditional marketing reports.
  • Knowledge and understanding of church/non-profit industry is needed.
  • Knowledge of The United Methodist Church is needed.
  • Background in marketing communications, product development, project management, copy writing and advertising production.
  • Knowledge of creative design process and experience with design tools a plus.
