A GANG OF INTERSTATE AUTOLIFTERS BUSTED

Major Highlights:

  • Two auto-lifters nabbed.
  • Four stolen vehicles recovered.
  • Auto lifter is proclaimed offender in two cases.
  • Reward has been declared by UP Police on the arrest of auto lifter.
  • Process U/s 83 has been issued by a Delhi court.

With the arrest of accused namely Chandan S/o Ram Prasad (36 yrs.) and Prem Narayan @ Rinku S/o Ram Kishore (25 yrs.), staff of PS Pul Prahlad Pur has unearthed a crime syndicate indulged in the illegal activities of auto lifting and disposing off the same.

INCIDENT & TEAM

On 06.03.2011, HC Praveer Singh, HC Naieem and other staff were on vehicle checking duty at Okhla-T point, M.B. Road, New Delhi. The staff was checking vehicles coming from Badarpur side. At about 5:10 PM informer informed that a blue color Tata-407 bearing registration No. UP-82A-9620 will come from Badarpur side, which could be a stolen vehicle. On receipt of the above information, the same was immediately communicated to Sh. Mahipal Singh, ACP/Ambedkar Nagar, who immediately constituted a team comprising of ASI Dilbag Singh, HC Shrawan, HC Naeem, HC Praveer, HC Manoj, Ct. Praveen, Ct. Prashant and Ct. Manoj all of PS Pul Prahlad Pur under the close supervision of Insp. Harish Kukreti, SHO/PS Pul Prahlad Pur.

At about 5:30 PM a Tata-407 having the similar specification and registration number so rendered by the informer was found coming from Badarpur side, which was signalled to stop, but the occupant of the vehicle tried to escape the check, on which barricades were placed and the vehicle was forced to stop and the occupant of the vehicle were identified as Chandan S/o Ram Prasad (36 yrs.) and Prem Narayan @ Rinku S/o Ram Kishore (25 yrs.). These occupants were directed to produce the documents in respect of the vehicle, which they were driving. None of the duo could produce any of the documents to the police party. On checking the vehicle mobile number of the owner was found painted on the vehicle. The owner was contacted and he informed that the said vehicle was stolen from Agra about 5-6 days ago and FIR No. 123/11, u/s 379 IPC has been registered at P.S. Atmat District Agra. The information was got confirmed from the concerned Police Station and on confirmation, case vide FIR No. 54 dated 6.3.2011 u/s 411/34 IPC has been registered at PS Pul Prahlad Pur and both the accused have been arrested. On interrogation the accused informed that they used to steal the vehicles in bid to earn quick bucks.

MODUS OPERANDI

The accused were subject to sustained interrogation. During interrogation accused Chandan disclosed that he is an unemployed and having three children. Earlier he used to work as driver at his native place Aligarh and in a bid to earn good money, during this stint he got acquainted with Rajesh, Hari Om and Gurudev and with them he entered in the world of auto lifting. He was arrested in several cases in UP and Delhi. When he came out from jail on bail he met with one Aqueel who get him acquainted with another auto lifter Prem Narayan. With this accused he started his second ining of auto lifting and used to steal required vehicles from the adjoining area of his native village.

INVESTIGATION

During investigation both the occupants of the stolen vehicle were arrested under the appropriate provisions of Indian Penal Code, 1860 and subjected to sustained interrogation. During interrogation they disclosed that they had stolen about 4 vehicles from different parts of Uttar Pradesh. Accused persons led the police party to different parts of Aligarh and Hathras and got recovered following 4 stolen:-

Two recovered stolen motor cycles are without registration therefore; the original registration numbers along with the details of FIR and police stations are being ascertained. Concerned police have accordingly been informed to take necessary legal action against the accused persons to arrest these persons in their respective cases.

  3. Process U/s 83 CrPC has been issued against the accused in FIR No. 1110/06 u/s 399/402/34 IPC PS Samaypur Badali Delhi.

Further a reward of ` 500/ has been declared by UP police for arrest of this accused vide order No. DCRB-Eenam/2009 dated 12.2.10 in FIR No. 482/08 U/s 41/411/420 IPC P.S. Atmatpur Agra UP.

Whereas, accused Prem Narayan@Rinku has been found involved in the following criminal cases:

Further investigation is on. Efforts are afoot to trace and nab the co-accused.

GANG MAKING/CIRCULATING INDIAN FAKE CURRENCY BUSTED, RS. 10 LAC FAKE CURRENCY RECOVERED, 3 PERSONS ARRESTED
With the arrest of (i) Sirajuddin @ Shahid S/o Shri Kamaluddin r/o 748, Gali Soudagaran, Balli Maaran, Delhi , age about 26 yr (ii) Mohd. Yunus S/o Shri Rashid Ahmed Meer r/o Batote, Tehsil & Distt. Ramban, Jammu age 32 yr & (iii) Mohd. Ashif S/o Mohd. Salim r/o 1737, Sui Walan, Near Haji Wali Masjid, Delhi age 26 yr, Special Staff of New Delhi District has busted a gang making/circulating Indian fake currency.
On 6/03/11, on receipt of a tip off about a gang supplying fake Indian currency, a Police team of Special Staff, New Delhi Distt. comprising of SI Bhanu Pratap, ASI Karan Singh, HC Vijay Singh, No1003/ND, HC Subhash Chand, No.81/ND, HC Parmod Kumar, No.2063/ND, Ct.Satender Singh, No.869/ND, Ct. Naveen Kumar, No.999/ND & Ct. Shispal Singh, 1247/ND,Ct. Rakesh Kumar 643/ND, Ct. Arvind Kumar 892/ND, Rajesh Kumarunder the supervision of Inspr. Arun Kumar, I/c Special Staff, New Delhi Distt. was constituted. The Police team took their position near Khan Market by putting barricades on the road. After some time at the pointing out of the informer, a Unicorn Honda Motor cycle was intercepted and the rider & the pillion rider of the motor cycle were overpowered by the Police team. On interrogation, they disclosed their names as Sirajuddin @ Shahid & Mod. Yunus r/o above. On their personal search, 100-100 notes of Rs.500/- denomination of Indian fake currency were recovered from the possession of each of them. On checking, it was found that both the packets were of same serial Nos. A case vide FIR No. 23/11 U/s 489-B/489-C/489-D/34 IPC was registered at P.S.Tughlak Road, New Delhi.
On sustained interrogation, they disclosed that they have taken a room on rent at H.No.3186, Kuncha Tara Chand, Dariya Ganj, Delhi, and they were scanning the Indian currency through Computer. On their instance, Rs. 8 lacs more fake Indian currency, computer monitor, printer, scanner, leaf machine, green/blue foils, cutter, cartridges, papers & some other raw material being used for preparation of fake Indian currency were recovered from the rented room. One of their associates Mohd. Ashif S/o Mohd.Salim r/o the above, was found present there & he was also arrested in this case.

Sirajuddin:He is eldest of the six sons & a daughter of a Rehriwala. He is a school dropout & passed 10th class from NationalOpenSchool. He started selling pirated CDs & in the year 2005 he was arrested in case FIR NO.128/05 U/s 63/65/68-A C.R.Act, P.S.Lahori Gate, Delhi. He is the leader of the gang
Mohd. Yunus:Son of a Forest Guard in Jammu, & after completion of his secondary school course, he came in contact with some local Hijbul Mujahiddin elements. In September, 2003, he was arrested by the Police of P.S. Chanderkot, Distt. Ramban, Jammu, for keeping a Hand Grenade, Pistol & a Knife etc. He was released from jail on bail during December 2005. He is facing trial in the Court of Addl. Sessions Judge, Ramban, Jammu, but stopped attending the court since 2008.
Ashif : He too belongs to a poor family.He had done a course in Graphic Designing from a private institute and was the person who was preparing the fake Indian currency.
Antecedentsand other involvements of all the three arrested persons are being verified, further investigation is on.

A gang of burglars busted. Burglars wanted to set up their own shop

Involved in cases of burglaries at jewellery shop, cloth stores, dental clinic and dhaba.

Sensational burglary at a Jewellery shop in the area of Vijay Enclave worked out

After burglary took on hire a shop to sell women’s clothes

Then committed burglaries in cloth shops for selling these goods through their shop

Three burglars along with one receiver arrested

1.2 Kg gold, 9.500 kg silver, cash Rs.9.95 lacs, 3 LCD TVs, 12 Gas Cylinders, sarees and ladies garments recovered.

Two house breaking equipments also recovered

A team of Crime Branch led by Inspector K.P. Singh and consisting of SI P.C.Yadav, SI Tilak Raj, ASI Ravinder Singh, HC Ragender Singh, HC Narender, HC Ombir, HC Mahak Singh, Ct. Naresh, Ct. Yogender, Ct. Devender, Ct. Vijender, Ct. Vikal Singh and Ct. Ashok under the supervision of Sh. Udaivir Singh Rathi have apprehended 3 notorious burglars and have recovered gold, silver, cash, LCD TVs, Gas Cylinders, ladies garments and house breaking equipments. The receiver of stolen property has also been apprehended. 9 cases of burglary of Delhi has been worked out.

Information was received on 06/02/2011 by SI P.C.Yadav that burglars active in the area of South-West Delhi would assemble at Dabri A trap was laid and 3 persons were apprehended who were identified as (1) Sumit Kumar (aged 22 years) @ Ravi s/o Rajender Kumar r/o Palam Village,Delhi (2) Sonu (aged 21 years) @ Masti s/o Mast Ram r/o Vinod Puri, Delhi and originally from Vill.Boich Distt-Buland Shahar, UP (3) Rajan (aged 25 years) @ Shekhar s/o Bhoj Raj r/o Vinod Puri, Delhi and originally from Vill.Balram Pur Chauthai Distt-Mathura, UP. Ornaments were recovered from them.

They were subjected to intensive interrogation. It was revealed that Rajan, Sonu, Sumit alongwith their associate Anna of Mathura who is absconding are involved in cases of burglary of Delhi. They began their criminal career by committing thefts of gas cylinders from commercial establishments. Subsequently they graduated to committing major burglaries. Recently they had set up their base at Vinod Puri, Vijay Enclave, Dabri, Delhi.

  1. On 21/01/2011, they conducted recee of the shop of “K & J Jewellers” in Vijay Enclave, Dabri. Then on the night of 21/22.01.2011, they broke open the shutters of the shop and entered the shop. They found a heavy safe and an LCD TV inside the shop. They tried to break open the safe but could not succeed. Near the shop there was a rehri rickshaw. They put the safe in the rehri rickshaw alongwith the LCD TV and took it to their hide out at Vinod Puri, Vijay Enclave Dabri. Anna, their absconding associate arranged a gas cutter. They cut the safe and found huge amount of jewellery and cash. They distributed the jewellery and cash among themselves and threw away the safe which was subsequently recovered by the local police. A case under the appropriate sections of the law was registered at PS Dabri, Delhi. As per the complainant approximately 2 Kg. gold, 16 Kg. silver, 1 LCD TV and cash Rs.15 Lacs were stolen.

2.The burglars having in the possession of huge amount of money decided to open a women clothes shop for selling sarees, ladies suits, other accessories. For this purpose they took a shop on rent in the market of Nangla Sakrawati, Najafgarh. They decided to name the shop as “Sonu Sumit Saree Centre”. The renovation work on shop is still on and they decided to open the shop in Navratras. For the merchandise to be sold in shop they decided to commit burglary in cloth shops. On 19/20.02.2011, they broke open the shutter of a saree shop in the name of “Kolkata Emporium” in the area of PalamVillage and stole sarees and ladies suits. A case under the appropriate sections of the law was registered at PS Palam Village, Delhi. Subsequently on 22/23.02.2011, they again broke open the shutter of the shop by the name of “Jagdamba Cloth House” in the area of Vikas VIhar and stole sarees and ladies suits. A case under the appropriate sections of the law was registered at PS Binda Pur, Delhi.

3.On 27/02/2011, Sonu visited a dentist at “Krishna Dental Care” Vinod Puri, Vijay Enclave for check up where he had altercation with the dentist over the issue of consultation fee. To teach him a lesson, he broke open the dental clinic and took away his TV and invertor. A case under the appropriate sections of the law was registered at PS Palam Village, Delhi.

Apart from the above burglary they also stole gas cylinders from “Spicy Tadka” a dhaba at Dabri and other dhabas of the area. Subsequently recoveries of stolen goods and house breaking equipments were made from their hideouts at Vinod Puri, Delhi and Mathura UP.

Total recoveries that have been affected are as under:-

Anna their associate is absconding and Raj Kumar receiver of stolen property has been apprehended. Efforts are on to apprehend absconding Anna.

CYCLE RICKSHAW THIEVES ARRESTED

The staff of PS Khyala of West District arrested a criminal who is involved in 50 numbers of Cycle Rickshaws thefts. 02 Nos. of Cycle Rickshaws were recovered.

TEAM AND INCIDENT

To prevent thefts occurring in the morning hours, a team of police officials of PS Khyala headed by Inspr. Randhir Singh SHO/Khyala was constituted to nab the criminals involved. HC Nikka Ram No.1264/W, Ct. Bijender No.1229/W and Ct. Surender No.1525/W started checking by placing barricades at NW Chowk Raghubir Nagar on the road leading to Khyala village on 05.03.2011. During checking two cycle rickshaws being driven by two youths having four minor boys with “CUTTER” sitting on back seat came towards checking point. They were stopped and were asked to explain their presence and to produce the ownership details of cycle rickshaws, but they could not produce any valid explanation. On interrogation, Ram Singh @ Ramu disclosed that they had stolen the cycle rickshaws from C Block Raghubir Nagar. The same was checked from the spot and found correct. On the statement of owner of Rickshaw an FIR No.35/11 u/s 379/411/34 IPC was registered at PS Khyala. During sustained interrogation accused Ram Singh @ Ramu S/o Raghubir Singh R/o Vegabond, Jhuggi Back Side Liberty Cinema, Karol Bagh, New Delhi further disclosed that he along with minors has committed theft of more than 50 cycle rickshaws from different parts of Delhi and the same were given to a person namely Kalu Mandal resident of Karol Bagh. In lieu of each cycle rickshaw they got Rs.400/500. The accused Ram Singh @ Ramu was arrested in FIR No.35/11 u/s 379/411/34 IPS PS Khyala. The other 5 juveniles were also apprehended and presently living on the footpath near Liberty Cinema were also sent to Observation Home. Search for main accused Kalu Mandal is going on.

Staff involved in the good work is being rewarded suitably.

“Arrest of desperate highway robbers”
Special Cell team led by Insp Subhash Vats under the supervision of Shri Bhisham Singh have arrested a gang of notorious highway robbers of Anwar Thakur gang namely 1) Anwar Hussain @ Qasim @ Raju Bechain (aged 23 Years) r/o Q-25, Gali No 18, Braham Puri ,Delhi, 2) Shanu @ Qasim (aged 22 yrs) r/o C-213/9/5, Sandhya Public School, Chauhan Banger, Jafrabad, Delhi and 3) Mohd Nazir @ Nanhe (aged 25 yrs) r/o C-213/9/5, Sandhya Public School, Chauhan Banger, Jafrabad, Delhi u/s 41.1 Cr.P.C. With the arrest of the above three robbers, two cases of recent highway robberies have been worked out and goods amounting to Rs 50 Lakhs approximately have been recovered. These goods include one tempo load of tea, auto spare parts, alloy wheels, tyres, carpets, fabric items, submersible pumps, electronic items, bed sheets and garments, stationary items etc.
There was information with Special Cell that a gang of highway robbers is active in Delhi and has recently committed two highway robberies in the area of PS Kashmiri Gate and PS Chanakya Puri Delhi and looted goods. On 6th March, 2011, on receipt of specific information a raid was conducted and 3 members of this gang were apprehended at about 2.00 PM near Anand Vihar ISBT, when they had assembled there to target their next prey.
The gang leader namely Aanwar Hussain @ Qasim @ Raju Bechain is a BC of PS New Usmanpur. He has 08 previous involvements in the cases pertaining to murder, robbery, attempt to Murder, Dacoity with murder, Arms Act. It is pertinent to mention that he has been released on bail on 28.02.2011, in a case of attempt to murder of PS Geeta Colony in which he inflicted gunshot injuries on one Rajesh over a property dispute.
Modus Operandi
After his release from jail he reorganized his gang & started on a trail of crime. Their unique modus operendi is that they develop information about the movement of goods vehicle which they target. Equipped with an auto rickshaw and pulsar motorcycle, they follow the targeted vehicle in their auto rickshaw and motorcycle. They usually carry their weapons of offence in the auto rickshaw which is owned by one Sattar who is a gang member. During Robbery they overtake the goods vehicle, terrorize the driver with a country made country made pistol and knife and highjack the vehicle. In the process of robbery they usually push the driver from the moving vehicle and the looted goods are taken to their godown which they have taken on rent in the area of Indirapuram, Ghaziabad. They transfer the goods to their godown and later on the looted vehicles are abandoned in the area of Ghaziabad.
Their recent cases of robberies in the last one week include robbing a tempo full of tea boxes near ISBT Flyover at night of 1.3.2011. In this particular incident, they high jacked the vehicle and took the driver in the accompanying auto and later on abandoned the driver at a secluded location. In this connection, a case of robbery was registered at PS Kashmere Gate on 1.3.2011 which has been worked out with their arrest and recovery of huge quantity of tea.
In another incident dated 3.3.2011 on Ridge Road near Budha Garden they high jacked goods vehicle carrying 166 cartons containing stationary, auto spare parts, alloy wheel tyres, carpets, fabric items, submersible pumps, electronic items, bed sheets and garments . In this case also they made the driver sit in their auto took the robbed vehicles to their godown and abandoned the driver on the way. All the goods looted in this case of robbery have also been recovered.
All the arrested criminals are having previous criminal background in cases involving murder, robbery, attempt to murder, Arms Act mostly in the area of East & North East District. A gist of the cases in which they are involved is given below.

* In 2006, he inflicted gunshot injuries on one Rajesh over property dispute in the area of PS Seelampur.
*In 2008, he inflicted gunshot injuries on one Zahid in the area of PS Seelampur over some property dispute.
* In 2009, committed a dacoity at a liquor shop in the area of PS Krishna Nagar in which one Ajay was killed and they decamped with cash amounting to Rs.1.5 Lakhs.
* In 2009, he inflicted gunshot injuries on Rakesh while committing robbery in the area of PS Usmanpur.
* In 2009, he was involved in a case of Arms Act for possessing illegal arms in the area of PS Seelampur.
* In 2010, he tried to kill one Rakesh in the area of PS Geeta Colony over a property dispute.
Mohd Qasim
*In 2005, he alongwith his associates made an attempt of robbery in Gokulpuri.
* In 2008, he alongwith his associates robbed 15 bags of Almonds from a vehicle in the area of New Usmanpur.
*In 2009, they committed an armed dacoity by high jacking a tempo full of Almonds worth of Rs.10 Lakhs and later on throwing away the driver from the running vehicle in the area of PS Krishna Nagar.
Mohd Nazir@ Nanhe
*In 2005, he was involved in a case ofhurt in the area of Gokulpuri.
*In 2005, they looted 15 bags full of Almonds from a vehicle in the area of New Usmanpur.
* In 2010, he was involved in a incident of murder of a child in the area of PS Jafrabad.
Further interrogation is going on to ascertain their other involvements in Delhi and NCR areas.
