A CHECKLIST OF WHAT YOU MUST BRING WITH YOU TO INTERVIEW
Original educational certificates for qualifications you have already obtained to meet the minimum entry criteria plus a photocopy of these certificates.
Official photo identity e.g. either passport or driving licence. If you do not have this a birth certificate is acceptable. If you have had a change of name we also need to see a marriage certificate, decree absolute, change of name by deed poll or other official documentation

One passport-sized photograph, showing a recent resemblance of yourself for our records (please print your name, course applied for and date of birth on the back)
Please note you may be refused an interview if you do not bring all of the above items with you and it may not always be possible to arrange another interview date. If on the day of the interview circumstances arise which may affect your performance, please advise staff immediately and they will try to arrange another interview for you.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE INTERVIEW
Multi-Station interview process
When you arrive for your interview everyone will be taken to a waiting area where your documentation will be checked, there will then be a brief overview given by a member of the team. You will then go to the interview in groups of seven and issued an individual number.
In the interview room there will be seven individual stations, you will then visit each of the station where you will spend 5 minutes to address a given scenario. The interview panel stations will usually include some paramedic lecturers, practice paramedics, academics, students and a service user. The multi-station process enables assessment of your communication skills, interpersonal qualities and value based experiences founded upon your own principles and standards. You will be measured against the following criteria:

References
We require one academic and one employer or character reference (not a family member) and have enclosed a Referee Details Form for you to download, complete and bring with you.
Pre Confirmation of Offer – Health Questionnaire (University Process)
If you are successfully offered a place on the course and firmly accept this offer, you will be emailed a link to complete your Health Questionnaire. You will then be invited to a health assessment appointment.
Normally you will be offered one appointment only. If you cannot attend the appointment on the date given you must contact the Occupational Health Department on 01642 228482 to rearrange the date. This rearrangement must be made before the original appointment is due to take place or this will be considered as non-attendance. Please be aware if you do not attend the appointment you will be liable to pay the rearranged appointment fee. If you do not complete the health assessment, we will withdraw the offer.
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
As from the 1st December 2012 the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) have merged and are now called the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). CRB checks are now called DBS checks.
This course is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Consequently, it is a condition of the course that you must disclose any convictions, cautions, reprimands or final warnings which would not be filtered in line with current guidance as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013) by SI 2013 1198). If an offer of a place is made we will require an enhanced DBS disclosure prior to commencing the course. The charge for this is £44.00 payable to Teesside University. As part of the offer you are also required to join the DBS Update Service, the charge for this is £13.00 per year payable to the DBS.
You should be aware that on completion of the course, you are required to declare any convictions, cautions or allegations to the relevant Professional Body prior to becoming registered.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER THE INTERVIEW
All UCAS applicants will receive their decision via UCAS Track. Offers will normally be made by the 31st March 2018.
All offers will be subject to satisfactory references, satisfactory DBS & completed health assessment process in addition to any other relevant academic or non-academic conditions.
Due to the limited number of places available, not everyone will be successful. If we are unable to make you an offer for your chosen course, the University may wish to give you the opportunity of taking up an offer of a course within another School and therefore you may be contacted with alternative courses for you to consider. Please note that if you are made an offer it may not be for the intake that you applied for.
The University is unable to reimburse you for any interview expenses.
