Applications are due March 15th
and August 15th each year.

Check List for Registered Drama Therapist Application
Make sure you complete ALL materials according to the instructions below and keep a copy of documents for your records.
Your application will not be REVIEWED BY the Registry committee if it is not complete!
If an application is incomplete, you will be notified in order for correction and submission in the next round.
-If applying through theonline application system, upload documents to the correct fields listed. You will have the opportunity to upload additional documents if necessary.
-If applying through thepaper application, send documentsvia email, fax, or postal mail to the NADTA office. Email: attach all documents to the same email. Postal Mail: recommended that items are sent via registered mail or other method with tracking.
______Registry Application original TYPED (if paper application method only).
______A theatrical resume, if applicable.
______Documentation of completion of additional clinical training in drama therapy and/or psychotherapy, if applicable, (if not on an enclosed transcript).
______Professional Experience As A Drama Therapist Form (if online application method).
______Additional Work Experience Form (if online application methodand applicable).
______Signed NADTA Code of Ethical Principles.
______If alternative training, Copyof completed Alternative Training Contract signed by your Board Certified Trainer.
_____ A short essay (1 page) describing the nature of your drama/theatre experience.
_____ A short essay (1-2 pages) on your drama therapy orientation with brief detailsabout your workplace (population, type(s) or services offered by workplace).
Send by postal mail to the NADTA office:
______One copy each of all undergraduate and graduate transcripts unopened and sealed in their envelopes.

______Applicants are required to be a member of NADTA for the 12 months immediately preceding the RDT application. If you have not been a member for the past year, please contact the NADTA office for assistance with this.
The following need to be uploaded if using the online application, or sent to the NADTA Office if using the paper application, by the people who have written them:
_____A letter of recommendation from a supervisor.
_____ A letter of recommendation from the director of your training program or (if alternative training) your Board Certified Trainer.
_____A letter of recommendation from another trainer, supervisor, or colleague, who can speak to your drama therapy work.
*If using the online application system:At the end of the online application you will be required to add each of your references names and email addresses. Your references will then receive an email to upload the recommendation letter on your behalf. Please send them the form ahead of time and make them aware of this.
*If using the paper application: Your reference can email the form to: or send via postal mail in a sealed, signed envelope. The writer’s signature is required OVER the seal of the envelope.
