A Cal South / GLA RETREAT an INVITATION

As the New Year begins, join us for a “life together” retreat in a pattern laid out by Dietrich Bonhoeffer, teacher of the church and martyr of the Nazi's in 1945. Pastor Mark Vermaire,lead pastor of Cross Roads Church in San Marcos and longtime Bonhoeffer student, will lead the retreat. Mark names Dietrich Bonhoeffer as a significant spiritual mentor in Christ and last year with his wife went on a "personal Bonhoeffer pilgrimage" in Germany and Poland. In a manor shaped by Bonhoeffer's leading of his “life together” community, Mark will lead us through times of corporate worship and private meditation on Scripture, small group (could includea LEAD Team grouping) discussions, and joyful "play" together. He'll also help us remember this saint of the church and be encouraged by his famous and less well known writings.
If you are able, begin your retreat with us on Monday night for the supper together, a movie about Dietrich Bonhoeffer's life, and a time of rest. Then, joined by those who couldn't be there on Monday, we'll begin our retreat at 7 a.m. Tuesday with worship (Bonhoeffer said that the day should begin by hearing God's Word and prayer before we ourselves ever speak.). That will follow with breakfast and the day of “life together” until 6:30 pm Tuesday.

Group fellowships, play and other “Life Together” sessions 1 pm

Closing Worship together 6 pm
The cost for Tuesday is $60 - thisincludes breakfast, lunch and dinner.
If you would like avoid the early morning traffic or do a private retreat the day before, you can sleep at the retreat center Monday night. Rooms are $65 a night which includes dinner.
