A 2020 Vision Collect:
Generous God, thank you, that you bless us with so much love. Help us to recognise and celebrate all the good things that you have given. Lead us to be wise and just stewards of all your gifts so that, inspired by your grace, the Church in Wales may grow in love and service of others and be living signs of your reconciliation and hope in our communities and for all creation. Amen.
A 2020 Vision Post Communion prayer:
God of vision we have gathered around your table, where you invite us by grace and share with us the blessings of generous love. May your gifts and welcome empower us for the work of serving others and building community through 2020 Vision. Awaken our imagination to the inspiration of your Holy Spirit and transform us as members of your body, the Church that we may grow in faithfulness, love and joy. Amen.
2020 Vision Prayers of intercession:
Creator God, life giver, pain bearer, source of love, thank you that you fill our lives and world with so much that is good. Help us to recognise your gifts and presence all around us as we seek to discern your will for the Mission of your Church. Grant us vision and give us courage to grow in new ways. Open our eyes to recognise your potential and teach us to live with gratitude, generosity and greater awareness of the needs of others.
God of vision, Hear our prayer.
We pray for the whole family of your Church. As we reflect on Ministry Areas, we give thanks especially for the diversity and gifts with which you bless your people. Inspire your Church through your Holy Spirit to move forward in faith, love and service.
In the world-wide community of church today we pray with and for the Lusitanian Church of Portugal.
We give thanks for the work of Cytûn bringing together churches in Wales helping us to encourage one another in faithfulness and unity. In our new vision for your church we pray for closer links to our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Help us to learn more about reconciliation, as we seek to grow in service of others and of you.
God of vision, Hear our prayer.
We ask your blessing upon world leaders and all who take counsel for the protection of peoples and for the stewardship of resources.
We pray for those whose lives are marked by the scars of war, poverty and fear and we pray with thanksgiving for the work of all who give their time and skill to relieve the suffering of others.
[At this time we pray especially for .....]
We pray for those who will attend the The Time is Now Conference in Llandudno as part of our Church in Wales 2020 Vision for our future.
Fill them and us with your wisdom and guide us all in your ways of justice and compassion.
God of vision, Hear our prayer.
We pray for all whose lives are full of struggle and change, for those who face hard decisions or difficult situations today [especially….] Give courage and hope to all who do not know what to do or who to trust, that they may find the strength they need. Touch our hearts that we all might live as signs of your hope and joy.
God of vision, Hear our prayer.
Be present to all who are grieving at this time; those who are facing the rawness of recent loss and those coming to terms with long-term sorrow. [At this time we remember …. who have died, and pray for their families and their friends.] In our sorrow God, be our strong hope and fill our hearts with your peace.
God of vision, Hear our prayer.
In a moment of quiet we offer our private prayers to God and ask for guidance for the week that lies ahead; especially we offer up those who will attend our provincial conference in Llandudno and remember that the ‘time is now’ for us to respond as disciples of Christ ....
Speak to us Lord in ways that we can understand and help us respond with confidence and hope.
Merciful Father, accept these prayers for the sake of your only son, our saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
