JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports To: / Director of Development
Purpose of Job: The Marketing Associate is a key member of the YWCA Greater Cleveland team, reporting to the Director of Development. The Development team includes Marketing and Events Management with a high level of interaction with the Finance team, CEO and program managers. The Marketing Associate promotes brand visibility, recognition and affinity to grow YWCA Greater Cleveland’s target audiences and generate awareness of our mission among a broad public audience. This is accomplished through implementation of web, social media and print strategies, including but not limited to e-campaigns, media relations, and content generation.
Principal Responsibilities:
Content generation:
Authors and publishes content for YWCA Greater Cleveland’s social media platforms (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram), website (ywcaofcleveland.org), blogs (#YWeAct), e-newsletters plus print media as part of a 12-month strategic communication plan. Will participate as a team member in creation of the communication plan.
Event marketing:
Creates all print and online content for YWCA Greater Cleveland’s annual events: It’s Time to Talk, Women of Achievement, Meet, Greet and Eat, and Circle. Ensures brand consistency across events through advertisements, sponsorship packages, programs, postcards, email, video, etc.
Media relations:
Collaborates with the CEO and Director of Development to support media outreach and engagement through press releases, coordinating interviews, preparing talking points, and pursuing earned media opportunities.
Marketing
Work in tandem with Development and Marketing Associate to support key messaging strategies related to the YWCA’s mission and strategic plan. Assist in the creation of the YWCA’s annual marketing plan and budget.
Required Education/ Experience/Skills:
Bachelor's degreein Business, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, or related major
Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills including the ability to adapt for a variety of audiences
Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking skills and ability to plan and organize workflow effectively
Motivated self-starter who works well independently and collaboratively with a team
Intermediate to advanced skill level with Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and online presentation tools
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Willingness to work occasional evenings for events
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Google Analytics, HootSuite, and developing a social media strategy across platforms
