Soft Pastel Animals & Pets with Jerri Shrader
Jerri Shrader paints primarily in pastel but will pick up brushes and paint oil as well. She attends many art shows, has art showing in several galleries and owns the White Heron Gallery located in Ocean Shores, WA. She was commissioned by Patrick Wayne to paint an oil of his father, John Wayne. In fact, she was privileged to have lunch with John Wayne in his trailer on the movie set. The Bob Hope Estate purchased another one of her paintings.
The first day, Jerri will cover the basics of pastel painting with soft pastels and students will practice these techniques on an item selected by Jerri. Over the next 2 days, Jerri will teach students how to paint feather, fur and eyes. Bring a favorite picture of your pet or animal to paint and students will work on their individual paintings. Jerri will bring in sample pastel and pastel paper for students to try. If you have paintings in progress, feel free to bring them in for assistance or critiques. Bring any soft pastel supplies that you want to use.
