WHEREAS, Hallandale Beach, Florida Was One of 217 Communities in the United States, 32

WHEREAS, Hallandale Beach, Florida was one of 217 communities in the United States, 32 in the state of Florida recognized as a “Playful City, USA” in 2013; and

WHEREAS, the “Playful Cities USA” program recognizes communities with a commitment to play through promoting policies that increase play opportunities for children, build and maintain parks and playgrounds, engage citizens in parks/recreation initiatives, leverage community partnerships, and financially fund new and existing parks and play spaces; and

WHEREAS, Hallandale Beach, Florida has been recognized by KaBOOM!, a national non-profit organization for its outstanding dedication to play through the “Playful Cities USA” program; and

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Joy F. Cooper, Mayor of the City of Hallandale Beach, Florida, on behalf of the City Commission do hereby proclaim that the City of Hallandale Beach recognizes the importance of quality parks, play spaces, and recreation programs, and furthermore endorses the “Playful City USA” program and the community’s inclusion in that program as a 2013 “Playful City USA” designee.
