WRWL LADDER TOURNAMENT

WHO: Any member who wishes to participate may join by signing up and contributing $5.00 for the season. This will be used for cash prizes so our WRWL budget is not impacted.

WHAT: Ladder Tournament/Match Play

WHERE: Wherever you and your opponent choose to play.

WHEN: From May 1 - Sept. 30 - any day of the week.

WHY: Just for fun and to practice Match Play

EQUALIZER: Net Scoring

HOW IT WORKS:

· Everyone who signs up will be randomly drawn for a "rung" on the ladder to start the tournament.

· A player may challenge 1, 2, or 3 places above themselves.

· Challenger contacts the challengee and the two of you agree on a date for your match.

· The challengee may suggest a course. When you agree on the venue one of you will make a tee time.

· Challenges may be played any day of the week and at any course, including Tuesdays @ Willows.

· Play 18 holes, giving strokes on the appropriate holes. Mark the dots on your cards before the Match. Before the match use your current handicap index to look up your handicap for the course you are playing.

· The winner is the player who wins the most holes (Net Score). To keep track of the match practice using (+1/-1) or (1 hole up/1 hole down) scoring.

· The challenger will change the ladder and record the match on sheet posted on the bulletin board in the ladies lounge. There is a prize for the most matches played.

· If the challenger wins, the two players trade positions on the ladder. If the challengee wins, places remain the same.

NUTS AND BOLTS:

· If you join, you would be encouraged to play at least once a month, however, you may play as often as you like. If you join after May 1 you will start at the bottom of the ladder.

· You must accept a challenge and do your best to schedule the Match. If a date cannot be worked out withdraw the challenge and call someone else.

· You may make your next challenge immediately after your match, but you may only have one challenge going on at a time.

· The ladder will be kept in the ladies lounge at Willows.

PRIZES: 1st Place (40%), 2nd Place (25%), 3rd Place (15%), Most matches played (20%)

INACTIVE PLAYERS: A player who has not had a match for over a month may receive a phone call and, based on that discussion, either become active or be moved down two slots to keep the ladder from becoming stagnant.
