International conference

Ore potential of alkaline, kimberlite and carbonatite magmatism.

School «Geochemistry of Alkaline rocks»

12-16 September 2011, Minsk

Dear colleagues! We invite you to participate in the International conference «Geochemistry of magmatic rocks» as a part of a school «Geochemistry of Alkaline rocks».

The following topics are suggested:

·  Genesis of alkaline magmatism: general view

·  Potassium alkaline rocks, lampoites and kimberlites

·  Geochemistry, petrology and ore potential of alkaline-carbonatitic series

·  Geochemistry and petrology of mafic- and ultramafic rocks

·  Geochemistry, petrology and ore potential of granitoids

·  Mineralogy of alkaline rocks and carbonatites

·  The experimental data for alkaline rocks petrogenesis

Abstracts and summaries will be published in a special book and in the e-print form on the Conference web-site http://alkaline2011.web.ru/.

Abstracts and summaries in Russian are welcome, but not necessary for not Russian-speaking participants.

The abstract submission deadline is extended up to 31/05/2011.

Please send abstracts as RTF file (strictly following the guidelines) to

Guidelines for abstract format is published on the conference web-site http://alkaline2011.web.ru/.

Organizing committee will confirm the submission of abstracts by publishing them on the conference web-site.

Scientific sessions will be held

September, 9 - at Vernadsky Institute of Geochemistry and Analytical Chemistry in Moscow

September, 12-16 in Ratomka recreation centre near Minsk.

Please contact organising committee for hotel booking.

On the base of the Sr, Nd and Pb isotopic data, we illustrated a genetic link between the Siberian flood basalts (SFB) and the ultramafic-alkaline rocks of the Maimecha-Kotuy province…….
A close association between alkaline magmatism and continental flood basalts is observed worldwide. Nevertheless, the problem of a genetic link between the Siberian flood basalts (SFB) and the ultramafic-alkaline rocks of the Maimecha-Kotuy province in Polar Siberia is still being debated.
