Preparing Bulletin Boards

OBJECTIVE: Students will prepare a bulletin board as an appropriate and effective learning tool for the classroom.

Ø  Discuss the use of bulletin boards and lead students in defining: diorama, interactive, laminating, opaque projector / Ø  Add terms to their vocabulary journal
Ø  Discuss creativity used in displays / Ø  Brainstorm ideas of possible displays for your field site
Ø  Lead students in reading the bulletin board handout from the TCA Workbook / Ø  Read and discuss handout
Ø  Discuss requirements of bulletin board / display project / Ø  Identify a learning objective you would like to reinforce
Ø  Create an appropriate bulletin board (or other display) for your field site for this objective
Ø  Provide a written explanation of your display
Ø  Take pictures of your display for your portfolio

ASSESSMENT (Student Performance): Students will be assessed on the completeness of their display and its effectiveness in enhancing the learning objective.

FIELD EXPERIENCE CONNECTING ACTIVITY: The display will be prepared at the field site.
