What is the World Archery Indoor Championships – U.S. Team Trials? A one-time indoor event that will be held December 13-15, 2013, that complies with World Archery and USA Archery (USAA) rules. The event will be used to select the best archers in the USA to represent the country at the World Indoor Championships in Nimes France, held in February 25 – March 2, 2014. Athletes selected for the team are responsible for their own expenses to/during/from the World Championships.

Membership Required: Participants must be a current member of USA Archery in order to participate in this event. Be prepared to show proof of membership at the event. If no membership can be shown, be prepared to purchase a membership to USA Archery upon arrival.

Citizenship: Competitors must be citizens of the USA to be eligible for the team. Non-U.S. Citizens are not eligible to compete. A current US passport is necessary.

What rounds are offered?

Qualification Round: Double Indoor 18m (Compound inner 10 scoring, recurve outer 10 scoring)
Team Selection: Round robin match play – top 8 archers in each division.

Are there separate classes (age/gender)? Yes, men and women shoot in different divisions as well as recurve and compound.

Are there equipment or dress code rules? Yes, equipment and dress code must comply with USAA and World Archery rules including footwear. USAA Dress Code World Archery Rule Book.

Is there day of tournament registration? No, all archers must register and pay in advance to reserve a shooting spot. Space is limited to the capacity of the field.

What is the facility like? The event is held at the Easton Newberry Sports Complex (ENSC). The ENSC is located in Newberry, Florida, just 16 miles west of Gainesville. The Easton Foundations Archery Center is a cornerstone of the Easton Newberry Sports Complex. For more information visit:

2013 Format:

·  Day 1 – Official Practice/Check-in/Equipment Inspection **

·  Day 2 – Qualification Rounds – 18m Indoor Round x 2 = 120 arrows

·  Day 3 – Round Robin Match Play (Top 8 archers from the 18m FITA Indoor Rounds, 7 matches)

** If registration exceeds 168, there will be a qualification round shot in the evening on Day 1.

All Recurve divisions: Qualification Round: Double FITA I Round (120 arrows @18 meters scoring the outer 10; 3 arrow ends; vertical face)

All Compound divisions: Qualification Round: Double FITA I Round (120 arrows @ 18 meters scoring the inner 10; 3 arrow ends; vertical face)

The Recurve and Compound Round Robin Matches will be shot utilizing the Set System. (Best of 5 Sets, 3 arrow sets at 18m at 40cm faces) (**compound scoring the inner 10)

Entry Fee: $125.00 per archer on or before November 27, 2013.

Late Fee:Add $75.00 per archer for registrations received starting November 28, 2013.

NOTE: Late entries will be accepted in order received as field capacity permits.

There is no on-site registration. Payment must be received at time of registration to reserve a shooting position. If venue does reach capacity, a waiting list will be maintained in the order that entries are received.

Refunds will be paid on the following basis:

From September 10, 2013 to November 6, 2013 = Full refund.

From November 7, 2013 to December 6, 2013 = Refund minus $50.00 from registration paid.

After December 6, 2013 = NO refund.

Membership Required: Participant must be a current member of USA Archery. Be prepared to show proof at membership at the event.

Citizenship: Participants must be a citizen of the United States at the time of selection and hold a valid U.S. Passport that will not expire for six months after the conclusion of the World Championships.

Waiver: All archers and officials must sign a USAA liability and photo waiver and agree to codes and pledges prior to participating in tournament activities. Archers under 18 years of age must also have a parent or legal guardian sign the waiver. Upon arrival, participants must sign a facility photo release and liability waiver.

Coaches during Practice and Qualification: Credentialed coaches are allowed in the archer’s area and up to the target line during Official Practice and in the archer’s area and up to the waiting line during competition. Seating is reserved for the archers. No more than one coach per archer may be at the waiting line during competition. To purchase a credential: login to your USAA member account and choose Tournaments from the left-hand menu and choose the COACH CREDENTIAL option.

Agents: Credentialed persons assisting Para-archers or the tournament officials may sit in the archers’ area.

Para-archers with classification are welcome to participate and shoot the distances of the main categories. Para archers must provide their own agent if needed.

Awards: 1st, 2nd, 3rd place after the round robin matches all divisions.
