Just a reminder that Fridays in Lent are obligatory days of abstinence from meat for all who have completed their 14th year of age but as always, anyone for whom fasting or abstinence would pose a health risk is excused.

The Chapel of Divine Mercy will close on Palm Sunday (March 20) at 11am and reopen the Monday after Easter (March 28) at 6am.

A New Concert – Sunday, April 3 featuring the classic English Duo CHAD & JEREMY! Chad Stewart and Jeremy Clyde scored their first chart-topping hits in the sixties as part of the British Invasion, along with artists like the Beatles, Kinks, Peter & Gordon, and Herman’s Hermits. They were distinguished by their beautiful harmonies and striking original compositions like “A Summer Song” and “Yesterday’s Gone”. Chad & Jeremy still perform together and we’ve got them here at St. Ann’s. You may have seen them recently on PBS. Now you can see them live in Wilmington. Tickets are $30 for Adults ($33 the day of the show), Ages 13-17 $5.00 12 and under free. Contact the Rectory for more information.

SPONSORS/GODPARENTS To be a godparent for Baptism, a person must be 16 years or older and a practicing and fully initiated Catholic, having completed the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. If married, the union must be recognized by the Catholic Church. One Catholic godparent is required; 2 godparents (one male & one female) is the ordinary and recommended practice. Keep in mind the purpose of a sponsor is to give good example and support in the Catholic faith of the baptized. Documentation of eligibility for all Catholic godparents are required from the Catholic Church where they are registered and attend weekly mass. If you have eligibility questions, please call (302)654-8504 before choosing any godparents. St. Ann’s Seams and Dreams After School Program Request – Do you have buttons, fabrics, thread or other sewing stuff you are no longer using? If so, please donate these items to the St. Ann’s School Seams and Dreams program. Donations can be accepted by dropping them of at the St. Ann Social Hall stage after mass on Sundays. Thank you.

Congratulations to Gary Camp - who was accepted as a candidate for full initiation into the Catholic Church by Bishop Malooly at the diocesan Rite of Election at Holy Cross Parish in Dover. Please pray for Gary and all of the candidates as they complete their preparation for initiation at the Easter Vigil!

Each prayer pack has a magnet with the name of one of our student Sacrament candidates for this coming spring. Put the magnet where you will see it each day and use the prayer that comes with it to pray for your candidate. Thank you!

PREP Registrations for 2016-17 – If you have a child who will be attending a non-Catholic school for pre-school or first grade next year, please call the Religious Education Office at 654-8504 for more information about registering for our Sunday morning Religious Education classes. Registration begins in March and closes when the class is full. Thank you!

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS LENTEN FOOD COLLECTION. The Knights of Columbus will be collecting canned and non-perishable food items for the next weekends during Lent, until Palm Sunday. Bins for the food will be placed in the vestibule of our church. The donated food will be given to the Feed the Hungry Program at Saint Paul Church, Wilmington. We thank you for your food donations for the Knights of Columbus Lenten Food Collection.

St. Ann’s School Possible Three Year Old Program for the 2016/17 School Year – We have received great interest in a prospective 3 year old program at St. Ann’s. Class size would be between 8-17 children and would be a full day (arrival at 7:50am and dismissal at 2:45pm). St. Ann’s Parish, Wilmington, will continue Symbolon: Part 2: Living the Faith - Sessions running on Monday evenings through April 4 (weather pending), from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the St. Ann’s School Library. Symbolon features discussion and video sessions which guide participants through the breadth and richness of the Catholic faith. Registration is free, and participants may purchase the Guide which covers all ten sessions for less than $25. Participants may choose to attend some or all sessions. St. Mary of the Assumption Church presents Sanctuary – A Cantata of Hope and Peace – Sunday March 20th at 3pm, free and open to the public.
