I. The meeting was called to order at 11:00 am.
II. Introduction of committee members.
III. The Requirements for the 2017-2018 Promotion Cycle and the College Academic Faculty Promotions Committee “CAFPC” Bylaws, Article 10.14 and Article 10.15 were distributed to committee members.
IV. Dr. H. Horowitz will contact Dr. Lloyd Makarowitz, (FEC) to request that he announce committee vacancies at the Governance Meeting to be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2017. Vacancies: 1) School of Arts and 2) Faculty at Large.
V. Drs. H. Horowitz and Y. Yang will contact the By-laws committee to confirm the process to change Article 10.15.14b APPEALS as follows:
Replace the term “Promotional Unit” with “Departmental Promotions Committees.”
VI. On December 6, 2017, the CAFPC co-chairs, Drs. H. Horowitz and Y. Yang, will email the Departmental Committee Promotion Chairs (DPC) requesting the number of candidates per department and tell the DPC Chairs where to drop off the candidate portfolios.
VII. During Intersession, T. Zahor will distribute a poll to committee members requesting availability to meet during the spring 2018 semester. The CAFPC will resume meeting in January 2018 to review applicant portfolios and schedule candidate interviews.
VIII. The meeting was adjourned at 11:32 am.
