This document contains step-by-step instructions on how to install and configure ActivInspire. Contact the Service Desk for the installation code for both PCs and Macs.

1. PC Installation

1.1. Double-click the ActivInspire_v1.6 file to begin installation. Follow the installation instructions on the screen. This file will install the ActivInspire application along with the Core Resources and ActivDriver.

1.2. Once installation completes, double-click on the ActivInspire icon on the desktop. Input the serial number above and your information under Organization. Check the box to accept the terms and select OK.

1.3. Once the application is open, go to File-Import-Resource Pack to Shared Resources. Navigate to the Subjects_ENU file located on the Service Desk in the ActivInspire PC folder. This completes installation.

2. Mac Installation

2.1. Double-click the ActivInspire_v1.6 file to begin installation.

2.2. Install the ActivInspire application by double-clicking on the ActivInspire.mpkg icon and follow the installation instructions on the screen. This file will install the ActivInspire application along with the Core Resources.

2.3. Once the application is installed, double-click on the ActivDriver file and follow the installation instructions on the screen.

2.4. The installation of the driver will require a restart of the machine. Updating the driver is an essential part of the installation.

2.5. Once installation completes, double-click on the ActivInspire icon on the desktop. Input the serial number above and your information under Organization. Check the box to accept the terms and select OK.

2.6. Once the application is open, go to File-Import-Resource Pack to Shared Resources. Navigate to the Subjects_ENU file located on the Service Desk in the ActivInspire Mac folder. This completes installation.

3. Configure the proxy settings; failure to do so prevents running updates.

3.1. Launch the application and select the ActiveInspire menu.

3.2. Select Preferences

3.3. Select Online settings and enter the following:

3.3.1. Proxy Settings: tssproxy.broward.k12.fl.us

3.3.2. Port: 8888

3.4. From the right menu bar, click the ActiveManager icon and select Control Panel:

3.4.1. Click the Options tab, and check "Use Network Proxy".

3.4.2. Enter the following URL: http://tssproxy.broward.k12.fl.us:8888

4. From the ActiveInspire menu, select Help and select "Check for Updates".
